I've missed the Wales national team. They've been remarkably quiet.

we have 3 golds and several silvers.

Much better return than the scots and not at all bad for a population of 3 million.

Aahh yes, Ben Johnson. I still remember that race and how all of Canada watched it and erupted in joy when he won. The next day a Toronto paper had the headline: "Jamaican stripped of his gold medal".

I think there's room for two.

Phelps and Bolt, two remarkable men at the top of their game...or are they?...more to come?

Phelps in London would make him extra remarkable, Bolt will be there for sure.

Incidently, how did that remarkable (US) American lady do? the swimmer coming back at the age of 42? I cannot remember her name but saw her on TV. Awesome feat.

Justice was served when they stripped that drug cheat of his gold and gave it to...err...another drug cheat.

[Usain Bolt's] pre-race schedule? “You want the truth?” he said. “I got up at 12, my masseuse brought me [chicken] nuggets. I went to the track and had more nuggets. I only had two because my coach said I should not eat too many before a race.” His father, Wellesley, suggests a local vegetable, the Trelawny yam, is his secret. It is food for thought.

Yes, indeed. According to Johnson, all the top sprinters of that time were drug assisted, it was the norm, and there's certainly evidence to suggest that Carl Lewis may well have been. Makes you wonder about these guys who are smashing the record well beyond where Johnson took it to in Seoul. There are seven guys who have ever run sub 9.8 seconds in the 100m, and four of them (Johnson, Montgomery, Gaitlin and Greene) are known to have used drugs.

But if they're all on it, i suppose you've still got to say well done to the winner.

I imagine it must be a tough decision for a talented runner, between wanting to keep their integrity, and knowing that the only way they can compete on a level playing field and have a genuine chance (and earn all the money) is to get on the dope.

Bolt picked up another gold when the Jamaican 4 x 100 metres team shattered the world record by a massive 3/10ths of a second.

Let's hold the olympics in Jamaica.

The opening ceremony can consist of lighting a giant spliff.
