| Gene Upshaw just died. Apparently, the NFL salary cap will be removed in 2010. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/26326065/site/21683474/ |

There was a time when I was an avid Oakland Raider fan. After their greedy owner Al Davis moved the team to LA, I have no time for the "new" Oakland Raiders.

A first rounder gets millions and can' beat out someone that has been playing for a few years. There is an obvious imbalance and we'll see how it evolves. The money grubbing players or the money grubbing owners.. same same but different. Sad that Upshaw has passed although it is a tough position, can't satisfy anyone really. He only found out he had pancreatic cancer on Sunday and he is gone already. whew. RIP Gene Upshaw. E. G.

| El Gibbon - this only works well if you have a sold and reliable internet connection. Something most of us don't have in LOS. As for the salary cap: Something will get done before the current deal expires - or at worst there will be one year without a cap. Upshaw - great player, who did only a so-so job as the player union cheif. IMHO he did not do near enough to help the NFl retirees. But like I said a great player in his day - RIP.

| El Gibbon and Bugs, Thanks for the info. You guys are much more informed than I am. I do still like the NFL and used to follow it very, very, closely. After travelling/expating in 2000, I've lost track of many things. Quote:
One of the criticisms of Upshaw (and the union) seems to have been the situations of former NFL players. Upshaw did state once that he represented the current players and not the retirees. Perhaps the players should have donated to a pool. NFL players often have ailments as a result of their injuries.

| ^ This site is for downloading a program at a one time cost ($49 I think). The program allows access to NFL games. I assume its the same content as that described (but not available from NFL.com) for NFL Gamecast. Yahoo is also flogging a service that someone else mentioned for $250 yearly subscription. If you want to watch on P2P (for free basically) go to ROJADIRECTA, ver fútbol gratis en directo, recién finalizados y video resúmenes. TVp2p streams ( PPlive SOPcast PPStream TVants UUSEE TVKoo Streaming ... ) Real Madrid Barça ROJA DIRECTA ! torrents emule torrent. There is an English help link at the top of the page which will guide you to what programs you need to download to watch the P2P channels. Most NFL broadcasts are done on Sopcast or one of the other channels. Good luck hope this helps E. G. |

| I am a Jets fan for my sins. I have been watching it less and less during my time here due to the timings. UBC didn't have the opener that I could see, but i see games are scheduled for next week |

Games will be shown on True Sport 4 . They are indicating that they will be showing both the Tampa and Dallas games early Monday morning. Late sunday night. I see nothing listed for ESPN the month of September but a fair amount of college football

| ^ IF and its a big one..... UBC telecasts as last year there will be an early game (either CBS or Fox) followed by the late game, which will the 'national' game from the other channel. They seem to rotate, if memory serves between the networks for the early / late games. You should be able to see all live Sunday and Monday night football on ESPN. The Wash. Jints game was a national ESPN game. From what I know Monday night's game is a doubleheader that will start an hour earlier. Generally speaking Sunday games start at 8PM and Monday nights at 9PM. Normal Sunday games are 1PM and 4PM. All times Eastern so that the revenues are maxed out in prime time viewing slots. Currently, until daylight savings time is over, we are 11 hours earlier.. i.e. 1PM Sunday Eastern is Midnight Sunday Night in Thailand. Monday night its Vikes/Pack at 7PM Broncos/Raiders at 10 PM. Sunday night game is Bears/Colts Love the Sunday/Monday games as I watch having my coffee..... Sunday schedules 1 PM Jag/Titans Tex/Steelers Rams/Eagles Buccs/Saints Chiefs/Pats Jets/Miami* Bills/Seat Beng/Ravens Lion/Falc 4PM Cards/Niners Panth/Chargers Cowboys/Browns * = what I think is the early national game. Enjoy, let the games begin... GO PATS E. G. |

Colts lose even though Manning plays Bears looked good Chargers lose ouch! Pats win despite Brady getting his knee blown out in 1st quarter - Story is he is done for the year... sources from Boston Globe... Sims in for a tryout on Monday. Seattle done bad by Buffalo Watched Pats, some SD, some Dallas, and Bears on P2P. quite a night. E. G. |
