Windies need to drop that wanker Universe Boss, he's past his best and they needed a rocket up their arses. Listening to some of the greats having to say how embarrassed they are is sad

Why India vs Pakistan at the World Cup is the hottest ticket in cricket

    Key Points

    • India and Pakistan meet at the Cricket World Cup on Sunday, June 16 with a projected television audience of more than one billion
    • Tickets for the match at Manchester’s Old Trafford had been selling on resale sites for $6000, a week before the event
    • The two nations are fierce cricket rivals, but have refused to play each other outside of major tournaments since 2013

Political and diplomatic tensions will be put to one side on June 16 when the two nations meet at the ICC Cricket World Cup in England in a match which could be watched by more than one billion people.

Sri Lanka vs Convicts today, and India vs Pakistan tomorrow should be really good games.

I reckon Australia & Pakistan victories.

NZ were lucky to have their match against India rained off; but with WI, England, Australia and Pakistan to come, they won't make it into the top four, imho.

I had haggis with my breakfast this morning, that's a first.

Next a trip to Tesco's then find a pub for the South Asian derby.

Bangladesh make the first 300+ chase to beat the West Indies, pretty easily. WI were horribly slow collecting runs for much of their innings and should have made 350-370.

So, England have beaten SA, WI & Bangladesh while losing to Pakistan; looking at the table, that's not too impressive... Afghanistan & SL next which we could/should win both of. Then, ending with Australia, India and NZ which we could lose all three of and be out - could be a bit like the last rugby WC.

Morgan got his hundred in 57 balls; 11 sixes so far...

...140+, 16 sixes, strike rate of 200+, still going. Now onto 17 sixes, new world record. & gone... 148 from 71 balls; decent effort.

Last 3 overs, Butler walks out at 353/3.

...a collapse, 3 quick wickets, but we have 360 on the board, so it's gonna be a tough ask for the Afghan team.

25 sixes for England in their 397; most 6es in one day history. Ali looked very good at the end; 31 from 9 balls.

    A good watch, that was.

Aussies reach 381-5 with great innings from Warner, a silly run-out and an even sillier review...and a splash of rain at the end.

If the rain hasn't slowed the pitch down too much this is doable...

232 looks well under par for Sri Lanka, but Eng are not finding it easy 144-5 on 33, four for the slinger

Certainly winning the toss is most important and it seems whoever bats first has an advantage.

Australia's batting is still very shaky and based upon form India and New Zealand are joint favourites.

Eng v Australia should be a good game, could go either way, imho. The Convicts are certainly growing into the tournament and are probably my favourites too.

    I hope so...

But, they look a good team with decent batting, bowling and fielding, as well as some of their batsmen not quite firing on all cylinders yet which bodes well for the later stages for them.

Soap Dodgers Captain ... a class act

    ---

Cricket World Cup: Eoin Morgan says England fans 'entitled' to boo Steve Smith and David Warner

    Cricket scores around the world-11243598-3x2-700x467-jpg

England captain Eoin Morgan will not follow the lead of India's Virat Kohli by telling fans to respect Australia's David Warner and Steve Smith, saying it is up to fans to decide when they want to accept the pair.

    Key points:
    • The England captain said fans must make up their own minds whether to accept Smith and Warner's return
    • Australia takes on England at Lord's with England in fourth spot on the ladder
    • Jonny Bairstow said telling fans not to boo was 'interesting' in a newspaper column

Fan behaviour is again in the spotlight after England opener Jonny Bairstow, in a newspaper column, accused Australia of hypocrisy on the matter.

With the top three to play, if we don't win one then several teams could pass us...

    Cricket scores around the world-screenshot-2019-06-25-13-05-a

(I wouldn't be surprised to see us lose the next three games and crash out; worse still, the Convicts winning the WC to set them up for the Ashes...)

Yeah, Morgan's claim that defeat has made no difference to England's chances was laughable.

It seems an opposing total of 320 is better for England than 230.

Chasing 230 we become 'Olde England'.

Maybe we should just always aim to bat first.
