I am also pleased Cook has scored over 200 runs in his last test match.

A fitting exit for one who was once a consistently great batsman.

And getting Kohli for a duck made it a great day for England.

So he says his retirement was an 18 month process?

    That included an Ashes tour.

    Hmm....

    Bye!

    You Poms love God's Country!

Any sacrifice to have a few months in Australia and without having to personally apply for a visa.

Well fair play to India they have battled well and might just get over the line for a draw.

It was an enthralling series for the most part, especially so because of the paucity of the batsmen's contribution until the last test from both sides.

Sri Lanka have won the toss and will bowl against England in the second ODI from Dambulla.

    Clear skies.

Rain stopped play with Sri Lanka on 140-5...England win, or at least they get the win, as the storm (no doubt brought on by the 'clear skies' comment ^) seems to have been the biggest winner.

So England win on Duckworth/Lewis thanks to cyrille.

    Good work cyrille.

Got to say I have no idea why England are in SL as practice for the WC during the monsoon. Its weird, I know that with the WC being played in the UK in the advent of summer there is really no easy way to replicate conditions anywhere else, but Sri Lanka, get the spin but its rainy season so damp pitches..... Seen that a lot of world class and therefore shoe in country level stars have booked slots with UK county sides during the summer to get exposure but it feels like England drew a short straw with SL on this series, they are a shadow of the side that had Dilshan, Sanka and even Mathews is crook. Just don't get it.

Still the Aussies have lost the series.

The second test ended with them being thrashed by 373 runs.

Looks like Eng v SL is going to be another rain affected game tomorrow, sadly.

This present Australian side must be poorest ever to leave the country.

Surely they have better players at home in waiting.

Absolute lack of talent more like it.

Their spinner got 4 wickets in 6 balls and they still got hammered.

No they need a range of grit, like some 80, 120 or even 180.

They cannot blame the pitch as Pakistan simply out batted and out bowled them.

And I don't know how many more chances the Marsh brothers should get.
