Cricket Australia (CA) had to abandon the Australia A side tour of South Africa.
The OZ Cricketer's association did not fold to the CA demands on pay and revenue sharing,James Sutherland, the CA CEO has now had to get down off his ivory tower and
actually enter dialogue with the cricketers.
The cricketers are making the CA look like dills, with the CA demanding this and that and the cricketers saying up yours.

Good start for Joe Root's 1st go at Captain.

Moeen Ali ripped through South Africa's batting to give England a 211-run win in the first Test on a wonderfully entertaining fourth day at Lord's.
Off-spinner Moeen took 6-53 for match figures of 10-112 as the Proteas, set 331 to win, were bowled out for 119.
England had earlier collapsed from their overnight 119-1, dragged to 233 by Jonny Bairstow's 51.
The win is England's first in seven Tests and gives Joe Root victory in his first match as captain.

Yeah Mo's contributions really are considerable.

Look back to the days when we were losing fairly regularly and they were when we had no decent allrounder. Now we have two exceptional players in the role, and this again made a massive difference.

Yep, Joe Root is clearly a huge talent with the bat and hopefully a good captain.

His first innings score of 78 is the only reason England made 200.

It remains to be seen whether opposition bowlers work him out but he does seem to be solid all over the park with his shot making.

Interesting first day at Old Trafford; England elected to bat and maybe now wish they hadn't.

No-one really got going - Stokes top scored with 58 - and they're 256/6 at stumps.

Stokes is probably kicking himself getting out very late in the day to a brilliant Rabada yorker. Roland-Jones came in as night watchman, so England are really relying on Bairstow (33no) and Ali to nudge them up to a respectable score.

Match very much in the balance, and great cricket from both sides.

Quite the test match here, SA have had a brilliant day with the ball, but Ali and Roland-Jones are chucking on some important runs at the end.

183/7 and a lead of 319, with a deteriorating wicket.

If England get past 350, it's going to need a jaapie miracle.

Du Plessis and Amla were doing a great job of keeping England at bay, but suddenly the wickets are falling....

Ali rightfully got man of the test and man of the series.

    Tremendous all round performance.

South Africa are in some serious need of a batsman or two.

Now a three match series against a hapless Windies starting on August 17th before the convicts beckon....
