Football - Gossip, innuendo & just plain libel

    Liverpool make shock Fowler swoop

Manchester City striker Robbie Fowler has made a surprise return to former club Liverpool on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old striker, who has joined Liverpool for the rest of the season, made his debut for the Reds as an 18-year-old in 1993.

He scored a total of 171 goals in 330 games for the Anfield side. Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez told the club's website: "He's got a wealth of experience and he gives us more attacking options."

Harry says - A good move for Robbie IMO, however I suspect it puts an end to Owen's dream of a return to his former club.

Sir Clive Woodward could be axed from his post as Southampton director of football if a consortium succeed in taking over the club. (Daily Mail)
    And not before time.

Do you think he'll get many games Harry?
    I don't.
Liverpool are scum IMO but I've always respected Fowler's ability. I hope he has a decent run to remind people what he was capable of before he finishes.
I doubt Owen will get a look in at Liverpool for a couple of years. He'll prolly return to see out his career too!

i think if fit he will get games. an early game or two will fire up the existing LFC front line as they'll be worried about their places for next season. but maybe just the threat of having folwer in the wings will do the trick & the otters will start playing a bit better. although they aren't doin badly at the moment. kewell is a constant disappointment for me, talk about playing in your comfort zone.

if the CFC can't be the kings of europe then i don't mind who is, as long as it's an english team! i'm well above the tribalism of football. manu u are scum though

Hope this gets my beloved Liverpool fired up for the rest of the season!

The papers over here are saying god has returned.

TBH,he'll score more goals than Cisse & Morientes combined given half a chance. let's just hope he stays cocaine & injury free and focused.

    Corruption, what damn corruption?

Yesterday morning on Five Live, Peter Kenyon was asked if Mourinho or he had met with John Obi Mikel. Kenyon said that "there had been no contact".

Mikel on Five Live this evening when asked if he had met Jose Mourinho - 'Oh Yes I've met him a couple of times' *snigger*

Thieving, Russian owner? incompetent out-of-his-depth chairman? Childish, egomaniac manager and African agents of 'the old school'? What do you expect . . .

I hope Mikel is worth all the trouble.
I read United have requested some unusual penalties to be hand down on Chelsea but really I think they'd settle for a few million quid!!
I've said before Kenyon was their shrewdest purchase by a long shot.

I recall there being a bit of a backlash against people who made remarks about poor old Peter's looks when he went back to Newcastle.

The sentiment was that you shouldn't speak bad about him because it was likened to having polio or a mental disease.
I mean the guy's just not handsome, nothing more nor less and he's not an orphan there, nothing to be pitied about!

david semen - life after football ?

GOALIE hero David Seaman’s hopes of winning Dancing On Ice are on the skids — after he squashed his partner.

Champion skater Pam O’Connor was left in agony when a stunt went horribly wrong. The former Arsenal and England footballer lost his balance in rehearsals as Pam slid through his legs. All 6ft 4in and 15stone of David came crashing down on the petite 5ft 4in Scot, who is half his weight.
    Twat!

...Rumour has it that some Argentinian girl at a bar in the Delano Hotel in Miami, mentioned she'd met an 'English football guy' called David and they ended up going for it all night long in his suite. He was kind enough to lend her his limo to collect her friend from the airport the next day...

I reckon that being an England Captain, it's his duty to torpedo Argentinians. *arf* *arf*

Heard on the QT this morning that Rooney's new house is on the market. Paid £3.5 mil to have it built, and on the market for £2.9 mil. *good investment then* Perhaps he's on for a transfer or more likely had an old friend around (remebers his penchant for shagging grannies) and can't get rid of the OAP piss smell!! *ho! ho! ho!*

Anyone know anything about the ruomours of Sol Campbell and Will Young? Word on the street is that the News of the World has a scoop on it for Sunday and that's why he was piss poor on Weds. night.

Chelsea won again at the weekend & I had the pleasure of sitting/standing in the upper tier of the Shed end, watching the proceedings. £48 quid for the ticket & £3 quid for a program. I cried, as you may have imagined. *waves ticket in front of monitor*

    Didier Drogba is...
an awesome athlete, a fantastic finisher, the best header of a ball in English football, scourge of Arsenal, hugely underrated in England the star performer in the African Nations Cup so far, the most famous and popular player in Africa.....

    and he plays for Chelsea

He also shags blokes up the botty for a tenner after training!

Who's coming in for the summer transfer period?

Roman wants that euro cup, so I fancy he'll be after Ronaldinho for 100mill and 250k a week for a 5 year contract.
And to sell more shirts, Beckham for 5mill and 80k a week for one year.

Not really envy Harry. More an unsatisfactory acceptance of an unpalletable situation.

In any supporters dreams (not us mancs mind) a stinking rich benefactor from 'whogivesafukistan' taking over the club and plowing that sort of lolly into the team is fantastic.
Roman has done it. Luckily for you he chose Chelsea.

The rest of us have to sit and wait and hope the wheels fall off somewhere but we're not holding our breath. This could go on for years.

Roman - what will happen if Putin decides he is person non grata and puts him in jail for tax evasion?

Chelsea will be hundreds of millions in the red, maybe up to a billion if they buy land for a new stadium

    Preferred them before Abramovich came.
