| Torre to Dodgers? Perhaps I would like to see Torre go to the Dodgers, and Mattingly follow. I've never liked Steinbrenner, and don't like his snotty kids. Hank Steinbrenner seems to be a twat. I don't know how the GM of the Dodgers and payroll work. Maybe they can build a successful team with Torre. I hope the Yankees keep missing the Big Serious. So, can Torre help the Dodgers become a multi-year contener? Quote:

| it will be interesting to see if torre can get it done in LA....he failed miserably as manager in the NL before. and btw, he also didn't do too well with the yankees after he lost zimmer as his bench coach. |

| TWP: Yes, Torre is a native NYC boy. Ray: Zimmer is gone but I suppose he's still alive. I think the surrounding coaches add a lot of value to a team if they're good and the chemistry is there. In LA? Hard to say. The Dodgers have been mediocre for quite a while. |

Very interesting, Ray. But what calls specifically? Going to the bullpen? Batting order? Cashman and the Steinbrenner clan made the personnel decisions as GMs. | ||

| ^ Thanks for the details, Ray. It seems you know your stuff. Waiting for "Ben." Who's Ben? Anyway, it's official: Torre has been hired. (No link needed, it's all over the news.) Cheers. The Dodgers may continue their mediocrity for years to come. One play off appearance since winning the World Series in 88. |

| Well, hi-ho. The Dodgers have 99 wins this year, and they're going to the playoffs, and the Yankees are not in the playoffs. Karma. Quote:
