    Manchester Utd

The philosophy of Man utd has drifted so far away from the eras of the Busby babe's and the class of 92.

Only a complete clear out and massive share price drop is needed for Man utd to recover it's former glory. ..

New chairman, a director of football, 1 billion quid and 3 years could turn things around.

Honestly, that won't help Manchester United or football as a whole.
United need to use their reputation and name not just for selling shirts but something catalystic before they are a memory and consigned to the history books.

I'm talking about a complete revamp of football!

    No ridiculous wages.
    No money grabbing agents.
Kids who wanna play for the prestige and glory of the club.
    Homegrown talent!
Putting profits back in to the local communitys.
This goes for all clubs but Man utd have an opportunity now to lead the way. .

What needs to happen in football is for Man Cheaty to be heavily sanctioned. The size of their whole operation is mental. All their success was paid for.

How can any team, especially newly promoted teams compete with the kind of spending of that Sheikh?

It would be fairer, if the league was run like a handicap horse race.

Give the newly promote teams a 60 point head start ,
    last seasons 11th to 17th 55 points
    7th to 10th 50 points
    Man U 35 points
Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs 30 points.
    Liverpool 5-10 points

Those are about the gulfs in the EPL right now

Sadly, they are STILL suffering the comedown of Ferguson's tenure

    Managers

It was not really healthy to have the manager merry-go-round.

OGS is a brave choice, but he 'could' become the next Ferguson IF they put their weight behind him, invest in him , give him time, grow together. (remember, Ferguson was one game away from the sack in the early days and went on to have a glittering career at OT)

    Right - players.

    De Gea
    - a keeper, even tho he's made a few errors recently - still the number one choice. He needs a solid back four, which he has not had for the last few seasons. keep him

Romero - does a fair to outstanding job - keep him too

Smalling, Jones - thanks v much and good luck with your next move

Bailly - the light burnt bright for a time but is it on the wane? a little more patience to see if he can be consistent.

Roho - again, was pretty solid for a time. injury took its toll. jury out and he needs more games to show, one way or the other.

Shaw - came with a reputation, developed the wrong other reputation and looked to be finished under Maureen. the injury he had did not help. Now though... what a turnaround. similar stature to Rooney, prepared to get forward, track back, tackle and pass. Wish United has another 4 across the back like him.

Pogba - say what you will - he has the ability to change games, he has the ability. yep - a keeper (not a goal keeper of course!)

Martial - fits and starts but he has the speed and skill IF only he was 1. consistent and 2. not influenced by agents trying to feather their nest with transfer talk. hes just signed a new contract - that should be it

Lukaku - bye bye. started well, and showed promise but is too full of himself. On his day, v good, provider and scorer,. trouble is... those days are too few and far between

Rashford - yep - home grown, talented, ability to grow with the club. could be a one club player if treated right and developed more. hope Ole sees that

McTominay - yes.. showed some excellent maturity. again home grown and should feature a lot more. growing in stature with every game he plays

Mata - great player, vision, can score, good provider, but near the end of his career, he cannot go on for ever.

Lingard - another keeper. vision, passing and can score. should link up with Pogba to form the strong midfield united need

Fred - who? can we have our money back please?

Dalot - yep - bit like Shaw - has vision, can tackle and get up field. keep him, develop him

Matic - a keeper, just. has good vision, and can spay the ball about accurately. part of the midfield trio

Darmian - not really lived up to expectations. if only he was consistent - i think...not going to happen

Lindelof - not shown promise consistently. can he? jury out on him too

Perrara - inconsistent . really don't know if hes good or not. Does anyone?

Young - was good but i think - had had day and time to go...

    and...

Chong - lots of promise - needs top play more. again, could grow to be a united great IF mentored and developed, plus games for experience. potential is there

Sanchez - was good for arsenal - not so good for united but can turn it on. Has not featured much under OGS, who says hes still part of his plans. I just cant get round that 500k / week wage tho. undermining the pay structure with the others. Unsurprisingly hes not well liked at the club

    Playing style

The biggest disappointment in recent times is the nervous, defensive SLOW playing style once Ferguson's time ended.

United were always known for attacking football. struck fear into opposition teams with the pace and passing. literally running rings round teams - sheer audacity sometimes. they were a team matted together, a functioning unit, and football machine which had to get to the opposition goal A S A P....

Then, along came Moyes, and Van Gaal, and a timid nightmare followed. it was like they were scared to leave their own half. possession yes, threat no. and tedious long-winded build ups gave opposition plenty of time to regroup in front of the ''attack' which largely came to nothing. they lost the fear factor

Mourinho was supposed to change it all. He didn't. same ponderous game play.

hopefully OGS will get back to the attacking, one touch football, complete with Ferguson famous 'triangles', plus running AT the opposition, balls over the defence and run in behind, drawing the defence out etc etc etc . i.e. the united of old

Above all...they need BELIEF which was showing signs of re-emergence when Ole got there.

Ferguson was such a tough act to follow, and he left as a lot of that solid team became 'past it'. the in coming players have not really gelled yet. hope they do soon

so, massive clear out, an out 'n' out Centre forward with support from Rashford . Martial and a right winger to feed the ball in. solid mid field as mentioned. 3 attacking defenders.. yeah ---easy task really.. just need that 1 Billion previously mentioned.

    c'mon Glazers... cough up!!

After such a terrible season the hierarchy at Manchester Utd have organised a moral boosting reunion and match with the class of 92, celebrating their treble 20 years ago.

Kick off is tomorrow at 3pm!

Relive history and remember the good old days.

    Sad b'stards

^ Could be a good signing, bringing a bit of youth and talent into the team.

I see Aaron Wan Bissaka has been practising to take over his role.

    Thank Christie for that.

Not quite the Duncan Edwards he was proposed to be.

Lukaku to Inter for 75m by the looks of things.

Another lower division player coming up from Norwich.

    Woo-hoo.

Just another case of Englanditis- shooting ourselves in the foot once again. It's contagious and has been for about 40 years.

If there are signings we need to make this pre-season it's a right back like Wan Bissaka and a centre back who can dominate and play out from the back. The difference Van Dijk made for Liverpool is testament to that.

Dalot looks like a player, but his position may well be further forward, and if I have to watch another Ashley Young cross hitting the first man...

Going forward there is plenty of talent there, as has been shown on various occasions....and not on others.

The man is an absolute failure and is the public face of the way the Glazers have leached off us since 2005, while milking every penny of the cash cow, yet letting what we actually do on the pitch go to the dogs.

Struggling to come to terms with new realities?

The Telegraph says Palace have been “unimpressed” by some of the performance-related clauses offered by United.

Their story says: “One of those is thought to have included an additional sum payable if Wan-Bissaka made 25 Champions League appearances for United, who have not qualified for the competition next season.”

The earliest Palace might possibly cash in on that clause would be 2022 – providing United finish in the top four next season, before reaching the next two Champions league finals, with Wan Bissaka playing in every game along the way. Which seems unlikely…

Give OGS a full season at least. With a full summer and transfer window to hopefully do what he feels is necessary.

Unfortunately the main problem is higher up, with that waddling double-dilly-chinned twat.

Real Madrid had 5 signings in 2 weeks ago all ready for pre-season. Man U have Daniel James and are off to Perth in two weeks. That club is fucked.
