I thought they were both clear cut penalty tries the second more than the first as was a guaranteed push over try if not collapsed the scrum. I wish more refs were like that guy, no fucking about teams want to foul then penalty try although he did bottle it at the end with what was a clear deliberate knock on.

I more meant in the context that he let the Saders get away with collapse after collapse at the other end and did feck all.

But yeah in isolation it was a legit call.

Blues defo have a lot more starch about them this season in any event. Hopefully they kick on from this.

I do like a bit of Super Rugby, and nice to see the Crusaders playing in an English style. I'll have them to win it this year.

Blues looking impressive against a good team, but then I think back to previous years, Blues always competed well in the more difficult games then fell apart against ordinary opposition.

Canes looked like they've used all their 'get out jail free' cards in the first game of the year.
Ronald McDonald never sells to children. He informs and inspires through magic and fun.

For some reason, and I'm not exactly sure what or even really why, I hate the Waratarts with a burning fucking intensity.

    As much as the Reds???

It'll be interesting to see if an Aussie or Bokk team can make the semis in a WC year - you'd think they should.

(BTW Mr.Robertson a certain thugish League no.10 in a white shirt seems to have learnt to pass! If he learns to tackle before the WC then...)
How do I post these pictures???

Quite like the Red and especially now that they're coached by the legend Brad Thorn. But the Waratarts... Nah, fuck those guys.

As for Farrell he can tackle he just needs to use his arms.

To be honest mate your the only Kiwi I know who has never left NZ preferring to live in Australia.

As an Aussie I follow all the NZ teams and love their style of Rugby.

Cheating and plying the rules yes but great ball movement and fantastic drive and defence.

The best and worst from the opening round of Super Rugby.

    BACK OF THE WEEK
    Braydon Ennor - Crusaders

Ennor, only 21, is normally an outside back but he played centre against the Blues and on this effort, he could push Jack Goodhue for the red and black No13 jersey and possibly demand higher honours. He has extreme pace but also excellent power and game awareness. One to watch.

    FORWARD OF THE WEEK
    Akira Ioane - Blues

It says something when your No8 is your main attacking threat, but such is Ioane's talent. Few other loose forwards could have scored his try in the second half when he galloped in from 30m. It was typical Ioane, celebrating his 50th game for the Blues. More of this and he could be something special.

    WORLD CUP WATCH
    Ma'a Nonu - Blues

The 36-year-old is back and the verdict is...he was pretty good. Nonu ran over the top of Richie Mo'unga and sent Jordan Taufua into next week with a huge hit on the sideline to prove that the power and desire is still there. Not sure about the pace but the signs are promising.

    UPS
    Quade Cooper

Unable to make Super Rugby with the Reds, Cooper has settled into his new home in the Rebels halves perfectly. Cooper put in a huge shift during his side's win over the Brumbies in Canberra on Friday night.

    Anton Lienert-Brown

Stepping up as one of the leaders in the Chiefs squad this year, Lienert-Brown was a force for the Chiefs from the outset. His ability to beat defenders and put supporting players in space led to two of the Chiefs tries, he made all nine of his tackles, and showed he's comfortable putting his foot to the ball when needed.

    DOWNS
    Richie Mo'unga

It wasn't an ideal start to the year for Mo'unga, who was wayward on all three of his shots at goal, missed five tackles, conceded a couple of turnovers and didn't have much of an impact in the Crusaders attack. He can only improve.

    Waratahs

Allowed a try inside the final five minutes, missed a game-winning penalty, failed to capitalise on great territory throughout the game and had double figure turnovers. The game against the Hurricanes was one the Waratahs really should have won.

Agree about Braydon Ennor. He was excellent during last year's NPC and he is definitely one to watch.

The Crusaders loosing prop Tim Perry with a broken arm is a blow, but having Joe Moody able to come back in is an option that many teams would like.

I saw a comment by Chris Rattue today that he considers Moody to be the dirtiest player in NZ rugby in his opinion. Or was it 'one of the...'?

    Dunno can't remember.

Either way it consolidates his (Rattue's) position as the worst fucking journalist in NZ in mine. Twat.

'Tis but one in which he manages to constantly stand out in.

Rattue 2001 - 2015: Richie McCaw is not good enough / past it and needs to retire.
Rattue 2015 - to date: The All Blacks are crap and can't win without Richie McCaw

They were. That Roscoe Specman looked the goods. He can flat out moooove. Yet, the Bulls were playing a Stompies side that is in complete disarray. If the Jaguares can play with a bit more discipline they might get one over the Bulls.

They've got a good spine in Genia and Cooper, a fairly solid if unspectacular backline all up and some grafters in the forwards so may well do.

Glanced a headline earlier that Rene Ranger is out for the season, ACL or something.

    That dude has no luck.
