Hopefully the Tigers only have 17 opponents on the field this weekend.

Panthers trounced the Cowboys today and Thurston looked out of order.

He should have retired when he was on top.

I just hope he is not picked to play S.O.Origin this year.

^Bulldogs deserved to lose for 3 reasons:
    (1) They were shit.
    (2) Leading 16-10 with 9 minutes on the clock they got a penalty right in front of the sticks, and didn't take the gift 2 points.
    (3) They were shit.

They didn't just win, they shit it in and without Shawn Johnston in the team (groin injury). They would have blown any team in the NRL off the park today, really good in every department and highly entertaining to watch.

Tigers, Warriors and Knights all come away with a win against the Storm, Cowboys & Broncos.

It doesn't get much better than that.

    Last year ranking 14, 13 & 16 winning over 1, 8 & 3

    Go Tigers!

^It's great isn't it?. How good were the crowd at the Knights v Bronx and NZ v Cows games?!. Warriors are the team to beat right now, really liking the style Kearney has got them playing. Anyway, there's 3 groups of fans who've been to hell and back lately who're enjoying their footy a whole lot more this year.

    Warriors... WTF!?

Yeah I'm enjoying it but I still can't escape the feeling that it's all part of the world's longest and most involved practical joke or something and at any minute now it's going to end in a shitty punchline...

    Warriors - StGeorge GF?

If the wheels fall off the Warriors, then insert the Roosters.

I like a punt on the NRL, but have almost given up after that last round!

^I haven't started betting head-2-head this season, way too hard still. That's good for the NRL and its fans, but a nightmare for punters . There's a dollar to be made in under/overs markets if you do your homework, but that's it so far.

It'd be a better man than me with balls of steel to have been betting H2H on NRL so far this season, which has been great for the game with teams expected to perform falling flat and cellar dwellers punching well above their weight, but this is eminent bankruptcy for punters .

There's finally some low hanging fruit on offer this week though, Melbourne @ 2.02 (I got on at 2.15 a few days back) against St George @ 1.81. Storm will shorten up even more before the jump when the smart money hits the ring and I can see them blowing St George off the park. The game is in Sydney on a forecast dry track but it could be in Timbuktu for all I care, Melbourne have clicked into gear now and will be wiping the floor with anyone and everyone until Origin call-ups start. Well worth having tree-fiddy on them this week I believe...

Dragons huffed and puffed and blew the Storm away by 20 points.

Roosters claim comfortable win over poor Warriors

The Sydney Roosters have dissected an inept Warriors 32-0 in Auckland, injecting life into their mix-and-match NRL campaign.

In heavy conditions at Mt Smart Stadium, the Warriors played like they had legs of lead as the visitors shaded them in every department.

The result ended a run of alternating win-loss results for the Roosters, who improve to 6-4.
The high-flying Warriors (7-3) crashed back to earth with a performance arguably even flatter than their previous listless losses to
    Brisbane and Melbourne.

Guaranteed to drop one place to third, they were blunt without injured playmakers Shaun Johnson and Issac Luke.

They also lacked the metres from their big men and the tight ball control that had been a hallmark of their season.
It is the first time they have been kept scoreless since a 42-0 drubbing more than two years by the Storm.

Young half-back Mason Lino limped off late with a leg injury.
This will be an issue if Johnson's sore ankle keeps him out for an extended period.

^Shock wins are normal this year, it's ridiculous!. The best tipsters are running in the 62% region this year, last year I finished with 83% and didn't make top 50!. Too hard for me...

Probably one of the most amazing seasons in living memory regarding fluctuating form and scores.

Apart from the very few obvious games I would just flip a coin to pick a winner.

Cameron Smith makes shock Queensland and Australia representative retirement

(notice the only man not applauding the QLD SofO win)

Cameron Smith has surprisingly called an end to his representative career with Queensland and Australia just three weeks out
from the beginning of the State of Origin series.

    Smith's representative record

    • 42 State of Origin matches for Queensland

    • 11 Origin series wins, six as captain

    • Four-time Wally Lewis Medal winner as player of the series

    • 56 Tests for Australia

    • Captained Australia to 2013 and 2017 World Cup wins

The shock announcement means Queensland will have to appoint a new captain and hooker for the Origin series opener on June 6.
The 34-year-old officially announced his representative retirement at a media conference in Melbourne this afternoon.

Smith said it was the "right time" to exit the representative arena.
"It's been a fairly lengthy process for me to come to this decision," he said.

"I probably started having small thoughts about finishing up my representative career last year."

    Bring back the biff !

What a great game Storm v Manly....
Melbourne centre Curtis Scott has apologised for punching Dylan Walker in the head during Saturday night's spiteful clash with the Manly star facing six weeks on the sidelines after scans revealed he suffered a fractured cheekbone.

The Storm released a statement via Twitter in which the young centre expressed remorse for his controversial actions which led to referee Henry Perenara sending him off.

"While it doesn't change what happened last night I would like to deeply apologise to my team, Manly and NRL fans for my actions. Not how I want to represent myself, my team, or the game," he said.
It was a great punch, but I guess it will earn him a weeks off after he faces the judiciary.

^Fractured eye socket they're saying, 5-7 weeks on the sideline. This won't help Scott's cause when he fronts the judiciary, I can see them making an example of him...
