At least he hasn't thrown his chewtoy at the crowd.

Though, I must admit lebron is annoying as crap.

Despite all the losses, they still sit 3 clear in the east

Cavs are 11-9 versus the Western Conference in 2016-17. Iow, their struggles against the west are a season long thing.

The west IS better, but losing to the Blazers, Pelicans and Kings is still ridiculous.

Kinda surprised LeBron played against the Mavs last game, seemed like the perfect opportunity to get him some down time. If the Cavs waver from giving him needed breaks, that WILL sink them.

Noteworthy, 6 of the Cavs 15 losses are on the second game of B2B games. Not a big surprise, they lack depth. They are 32-9 otherwise.

Here's Charles Barkley on LeBron, and Barkley makes fair points. Still knowing little of the NBA (even though I'm watching), it often root for players like this and their team to lose.

Charles Barkley laughs off LeBron James' barbs, stands by critique of Cavaliers' star

Charles Barkley joins Waddle & Silvy to respond to the criticisms levied by LeBron James, saying he doesn't have any issue, but stands by his comments.

ESPN.com news services

A day after LeBron James called him a "hater" and dug up some of his personal history, TNT analyst Charles Barkley says he stands by his criticism of the Cleveland Cavaliers' star player.

"I stick by what I said, I'm not going to make this personal ... he was all whiny last week," Barkley said on the Waddle & Silvy show on ESPN Radio on Tuesday. "... I'm good and I'm straightforward, I'm never going to get personal on an NBA player."

Charles Barkley has 'no problem' with LeBron's comments

Waddle & Silvy

Last week, Barkley said James was being "whiny" for publicly stating the Cavs need to bring in another playmaker.

"Inappropriate. Whiny. All of the above," Barkley said of James then. "The Cleveland Cavaliers, they have given him everything he wanted. They have the highest payroll in NBA history. He wanted J.R. Smith last summer, they paid him. He wanted [Iman] Shumpert last summer. They brought in Kyle Korver. He's (LeBron) the best player in the world.
Does he want all of the good players? He don't want to compete? He is an amazing player. They're the defending champs."

James, clearly irked by Barkley's comments,
told ESPN's Dave McMenamin on Monday night that he won't let Barkley "disrespect my legacy like that," and took some personal shots at the Hall of Famer.

"I'm not the one who threw somebody through a window. I never spit on a kid. I never had unpaid debt in Las Vegas," James told ESPN on Monday. "I never said, 'I'm not a role model.' I never showed up to All-Star Weekend on Sunday because I was in Vegas all weekend partying."

TNT analyst Charles Barkley laughed off LeBron James' rant directed at the Hall of Famer.

When asked Tuesday if he felt James crossed the line, Barkley said it was a case of shooting the messenger and that he had no issues with James' remarks.

"I was laughing, clearly he did some homework ... he Googled me and found some things," Barkley said. "He was young when I was playing, so I appreciate that, but I'm not upset about it ... my criticism was fair and I'm good with that."

Despite drawing the ire of one of the biggest names in the sport, Barkley said he doesn't plan to rein in his opinions.

"Some of the stuff he said about me is correct -- doesn't make the message I said about him incorrect," Barkley said. "Some of them are intimidated about LeBron [but] I'm not intimidated at all."

Charles Barkley laughs off LeBron James' barbs, says he'll continue to speak his mind

Barkley is of course being provocative purely to grab attention. It's all a bit lame/manufactured as well as being flawed. A player is supposed to NOT want an upgrade as the trade deadline approaches? The Warriors added Kevin cuz they could. I got give LeBron credit for not saying stuff about the fact he has 3 titles versus zero for Charles.

How Barkley ever won the mvp while Jordan was playing is unclear.

Kevin Love has returned, and all is again well in Cleveland. Korver seems to have settled in. As good as LBJ is, he needs teammates.

^ Celtics are playing some really good ball, staying close to the Cavs.

boston is a reg sea team which thrives on reg sea intensity levels. they could lose to anyone in the east in the playoffs and have no shot in hell of beating cle.

cle is still in a funk and needs smith to get out of it.

Though LeBron is logging heavier minutes this year versus last year. The fact the big guy has to put in large minutes to lock in victories against weak teams like the Knicks and Timberwolves is not a good sign.

Re: Warriors winning in Durant's return to OKC (130-114, this past Saturday). Westbrook scores 47, they still get smashed.

Love this:

http://www.sbnation.com/2017/2/12/14...a-city-move-on

Quote:
Clearly, Westbrook and Durant aren’t totally over it themselves. They got into a jawing match late in the third quarter, after all — Westbrook reportedly yelling, “I’m coming,” with Durant responding, “You’re losing.”
It does go back to this:

Report: Kevin Durant's frustrations with Russell Westbrook led to departure - CBSSports.com

Quote:
Westbrook is a dominating force on offense, but his relentless attacking can be both a gift and a curse. It's the reason he's so good and the reason the offense can get into trouble at times. Tunnel vision can occur and individual matchups can become more focused upon than the game plan.

Durant wanted an offense that kept the ball moving and provided him easier scoring chances. The Thunder fired coach Scott Brooks, brought in Billy Donovan, and still the offense stalled out at key moments, often with Westbrook dribbling into oblivion. The Thunder led the NBA in blown fourth-quarter leads last season, despite their firepower.

The East is now possibly interesting. In addition to JR Smith likely still at least a couple weeks away, now this ...

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love out 6 weeks after knee surgery

Indeed.

I'm casually watching the Cavs and Wolves now.

I'm enjoying the Celtics.

Here are some wicked assists:

Re: the trade. Certainly doesn't shift anything in the big picture of the NBA, but New Orleans now has enough talent to perhaps grab the 8 spot in the west, and enjoy the lovely privilege of having their ass kicked by Golden State in round 1.

Cousins has the rep of being a nutcase, but the Kings franchise has been a mess for a decade ... maybe he's less of a nutcase in a better situation?

I see it the same way as you do UM, knowing that you know a lot more about the game than I do.

(I only know from following the 'analysts' and pundits.)

One thing is that the two drafts picks Sac will get depend on how well or badly New Orleans does this year. The picks are out of their control.

Boogie seems to be a power presence and is young. If he was more emotionally mature on and off the court, he could be more of a power (me thinks).

Now Durant is out a month minimum.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/01/s...iors.html?_r=0

Quote:
Kevin Durant has hurt his left knee and will be out at least four weeks, but the Warriors hope he can return before the end of the regular season.

Durant left a game in Washington on Tuesday night after less than two minutes on the court after his teammate Zaza Pachulia fell into him. Without him, the Warriors lost, 112-108.
Is this the opening the Spurs needed to grab the 1 seed? Spurs have 16 of their last 24 at home. This seems to be a team you don't hear much about, because the personalities of their players is so corporate. Last year Center was a weak position for them, now they have Gasol as well as the surprising Dedmon, who from obscurity has become that rare big man who is a quality defender.

Just when it looked like the Warriors might be collapsing, Klay Thompson has stepped up and helped deliver some big wins. San Antonio is putting the pressure on, though.

Speaking of pressure, Pizza your Celtics are on the verge of passing the Cavs for the number 1 spot in the East.

I watched most of the Spurs v. Cavs game.

The Spurs were running the boards.

Boston has creeped up to #1 in the East for now....
