    Just being able to complete that race is a feat in itself. A sure-fire method of cracking your knackers are those old French farm roads. I was in Roubaix last year and rode over the Carrefore d'labre - the most harrowing, ball-busting cobbled secteur.

    just imagine riding over this kind of fare for 50kms at 25mph. It'll tend to break your bollocks.



    Nice third from Ian Stannard, equalling best ever finish in the 'Hell of the North' by a Brit.

    I watched that, and Stannard was close to winning, tried to lose them in the final few kms as he knew a couple would outsprint him. Nonetheless, he did well.
