    You Welsh $#@#$%!

It's a big one this weekend.

You beat us fair and proper in the World Cup, now let's see if we can do a bit better this time around. Should be a cracking game, and I wouldn't wanna call it.

I'm looking forward to this one more than any rugby game so far this year.

    He should've lumped him!

    England v Wales

    • ‘He has been honest and opinionated … that’s been great for the game’
    • Gatland admits Wales will adopt direct approach at Twickenham

Warren Gatland has praised his England counterpart Eddie Jones for his “refreshing and honest” outlook before Saturday’s Six Nations showdown at Twickenham.
Jones is currently serving a self-imposed media ban, and he has not fronted an England press conference since immediately after the victory over Ireland 10 days ago, although that exile is due to end on Thursday.
The New Zealander is an admirer of the straight-talking Australian, and he said: “Eddie has brought a bit of an edge. What he has done is just expressed himself and said what he thinks. He has been honest and opinionated, and I think that’s been great for the game. It sounds like the [England] players are really enjoying the environment and thriving on that
“I get on with Eddie well. I think he’s been great. He has been refreshing and he has been honest. I think when he does say something out of turn, it is important you guys [media] don’t jump on him, otherwise he will clam up and stay quiet. Give him the licence to speak his mind and say what he wants to say, without actually analysing everything or making headlines out of things.”
Gatland has named an unchanged team to face their fellow unbeaten challengers England in what is effectively a Six Nations title decider, retaining the starting lineup that accounted for France 11 days ago, although there are three switches on the bench.
The scrum-half Rhys Webb, who was called into Wales’ Six Nations squad on Monday following a six-month injury absence from Test rugby, is among the replacements, along with the fit-again lock Luke Charteris and prop Paul James.
James, the Ospreys loosehead, takes over from the 122 times-capped Gethin Jenkins, who is continuing his recovery from a calf muscle strain. “It was pretty straightforward – there was not much discussion at all about selection. As a team, we are in a pretty good place,” Gatland said.
“I think both teams have got very strong defences. We pride ourselves on being able to play without the ball, and England are pretty good in that regard. We won’t disappoint [the England fly-half] George Ford in terms of where we go on Saturday.
“We won’t be throwing the ball all over the place, we will be pretty direct. We need to earn the right to go wide, and we’ve got players to get us across the advantage line, and hopefully when we do get across the advantage line we can play some pretty positive rugby.”

We've got the two biggest bullshitters in management for this one; usually pretty good natured, so there's not only the England V Wales stuff going on there's also some Convict v Kiwi going on. All adds to the game, imho.

Our Kiwi captain is good too...

All about options. If the Welsh succeed in targeting Ford, we can move Farrell to 10 and put Manu on at 12.

Warren Gatland: Wales stronger than World Cup win over England

    By Richard Williams
    BBC Wales Sport

Rhys Priestland (left), Lloyd Williams and Dan Biggar celebrate Wales' win against England, which contributed to the hosts' pool-stage exit in the World CupSix Nations: England v WalesVenue: Twickenham Date: Saturday, 12 March Kick-off: 16:00 GMTCoverage: Live on S4C and ITV, commentary on BBC Radio 5 live & BBC Sport website and BBC Sport app, plus live text commentary.
Wales coach Warren Gatland believes his team are stronger now than when they beat England in the 2015 World Cup.
The teams meet at Twickenham on Saturday in a "cup final" which the New Zealander says will effectively decide the 2016 Six Nations.
An injury-hit Wales team shocked the hosts 28-25 in a Pool A match in September.
"It was a great performance to get out of that group, but we feel we're in much better shape now," said Gatland.
"There's a lot of confidence in the team and we're treating Saturday as a final.
"It's going to be one heck of a game, and to be honest whoever wins on Saturday probably wins the Six Nations."

Centre Scott Williams was one of three Wales players injured during the World Cup win over EnglandHigh stakes match

Both teams are unbeaten going into Saturday's match, with England boasting a 100% record under new coach Eddie Jones in pursuit of their first Grand Slam since 2003.
Wales have beaten Scotland and France after drawing 16-16 with Ireland in their opening game.
Gatland has named an starting XV unchanged from the one that began the 19-10 win over France.
But there are three changes among the replacements as scrum-half Rhys Webb returns to the squad for the first time since September.
Lock Luke Charteris is also on the bench after missing the win over France, while prop Paul James replaces injured loose-head Gethin Jenkins.
    Four different players

Wales' starting XV shows only four changes from the team that won at Twickenham in the World Cup.
On that day, Hallam Amos and Scott Williams were among the backs, while Gethin Jenkins and Tomas Francis were the starting props.
But Wales have fewer injuries to contend with now, and have a much stronger bench.

Rhys Webb is back on Wales' bench having not played since getting injured against Italy in September"We feel like there's a lot of strength in depth, especially with the two locks - and the two young props have continued to get better and better," said Gatland.
"Samson Lee was coming back from injury at the World Cup so we feel he and Rob Evans have done really well.
"Scott Baldwin is getting better and better so, up front, we feel confident and settled.
"And in the backs, we have [centre] Jonathan Davies back with that experience as well and I'm pleased to see [wing] Alex Cuthbert is getting a little bit of his mojo back."
    Jones adds an edge

Gatland believes England are "very similar" to the side Wales played in the World Cup but concedes new coach Eddie Jones has "added an edge" to their play.
"The two wings have changed over and the six and seven have changed over, but apart from that it's pretty much the same team that was on show at the World Cup," added Gatland.
"They're a good side. I don't think they are too far away from cracking it.
"They've got a lot of strength in depth and young players who are improving the longer they are in the side."

The sad thing about beating England in the RWC is that we know damn well we will lose the next one.

New coach syndrome had me predicting an English Grand Slam this year, seen nothing to change that.

France sure as hell won't beat them..................

Good article by Sir Clive, but I can't help thinking he is playing the reverse psychology game that he isn't known for this time...... hahahah.... actually I know he does like this current side.

    ^ an interesting read.

I'm not as confident as you, Bob, that England will win; I think it'll be close and could go either way.

But, I agree with Chas that we have better options. &, we are certainly better coached now, and actually have a gameplan which includes getting our best players on the pitch .

I'm surprised how few changes Eddie has made, you are still seriously lacking a proper 7, The Hask is hardly a great replacement for Robshaw..... Farrell is still at 12......

Neither of those things scare top teams....

    I agree, very few changes.

But, we have scored most of our tries from having a ballplayer (maybe not a great one...) at 12 laying off good passes. We do have problems at 7, that's clear, but the young second row from Saracens is a flanker in disguise, and we have another good young flanker on the bench - I think Jones is being sensible here by slowly phasing Haskell and Robshaw out, when the two I mentioned are fully ready to take on top level international rugby (maybe another season away). Jones has a plan, it's a work in progress, it's not the end of our world if we lose tomorrow either. I feel confident we are moving in the right direction and will be a good team in a couple of season's time.

I think Ford is vulnerable especially as their back row is so quick and powerful and he has been below his best this year.
Haskell has been a surprise package for me, but Robshaw carries the ball into the tackle far too low to be effective.
The back row performances will win this one and Wales have it in spades.

I see eddie Jones has tried to outsmart Gatland by claiming every Welsh scrum is illegal and he expect Craig Joubert to penalise them at every single scrum.....

I guess this is to counter the constant boring in by Joe Marlar, who once he got sorted in the RWC got dicked by an Australian TH.... yes...you heard me, and Australian.

I guess Eddie fears our scrum (not sure why, it's the packs weakest point)

Wales warn England over illegal scrummaging ahead of showdown
Wales plan to be "pointing a finger" at England loosehead prop Joe Marler should he scrummage illegally during Saturday's Six Nations showdown at Twickenham.

Warren Gatland's men felt they were harshly penalised at times during the teams' last encounter at the World Cup in September, when England forward Marler's angle of scrummaging was the subject of much debate.

Wales assistant coach Robin McBryde believes Marler subsequently got "found out" when England subsquently took on Australia and were dumped out of the tournament.

"He needs to scrummage legally, otherwise we will be pointing a finger," said McBryde.

We played well for a large part of the game, and put ourselves in a good position, but will have to develop a team ethic that sees out games in comfort/style.

The ref did fine, imho, he was consistent, and I do think England do still have problems at scrum time, although there were several cases where the Welsh 8 decided to spin the scrum around (all their feet were pointing sideways...) that the ref missed; he missed some our foul play too (I saw a few more neck rolls), but he was consistent and got most things right.

Great evening of Rugby especially for the neutral, and eventually for England fans. England too good first hour. Wales always likely to wake up and come back. North and Roberts were exceptional in last 20.

George Ford needs a trick cyclist to resolve his confidence issues. Itoje is an awesome athlete with a great attitude. Bring on Les Bleus, including Trinh Duc and Fofana. I hope Scotland are up for this.
