    The 2007/2008 Championship football thread

    First up.

Chopra left Cardiff, joining Sunderland for 4.5 million.
We have replaced him with Robbie Fowler on a free transfer.

Excellent business but it remains to be seen whether or not the reported 15,000 a week we are paying him will be sufficient to feed his coke habit.

Rumours too that francis Jeffers is close to signing from Blackburn.

I predict another mid table finish for City.

I don't know why you bother, all the best teams are in league one. You are too bad to be relegated into such a wonderful division.

After the disappointment of defeat to Stoke at home, cardiff got their season off to a decent start with a massive 2-0 away win against QPR.

Best news is that they managed 2 goals without aging new signings Robbie Fowler and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank who have yet to pull on the proud blue jersey.

Well as a Blade, I'm not expecting too much this season in my heart of hearts. If I look at the squad realistically we have a couple of goodish strikers in James Beattie and Rob Hulse but the rest is very average. Not real premiership material.

I also think Brian Robson as the new manager is a bad choice. You need someone with a bit upstairs to build you a young confident squad who can play fast skillful football to go up and stay up, like Wigan and Reading.

Any way come on the Blades. Beattie on the scoresheet this weekend in a dogged win against West Brom and as long as we beat Wednesday who cares.

Quite right Mr personality Robson is the wrong choice for the job.
He makes a strong case for the "great players doesn't mean great managers" brigade

Cardiff beat Norwich 2-1 away for our first win at Carow road for 36 years.

After totally outplaying Coventry last week and losing to their only effort of the game, we were by all accounts second best at Norwich, yet managed to scrape home with a last gasp winner.

    It's a funny old game.

    LEAGUE ONE
    Leeds 1-0 Luton
Leeds boss Dennis Wise and opposite number Kevin Blackwell have a bust-up as United maintain their 100% league record with a deserved 1-0 victory.

    No pictures though.

Blades come back from a goal down to beat Wolves 3-1. Beattie scores 2. Now that's more like it. Need to do that away from home now.

2-2 away to Plymouth for Cardiff.
    vaguely acceptable.

Coming back from 2-0 down away from home must feel like a big win.
