Sure, fire me. Only cost you $13 million

This has got to be a record pay-out for being fired from a college coaching gig. Pretty sweet deal for a 62 year old ball coach.

'Good possibility' that LSU Tigers buy out Les Miles contract -- source

"He is under contract through 2019 with a 2015 buyout figure of $15 million. Miles' buyout would decrease to $12.9 million if he was fired after Jan. 1.

Boosters have already agreed to pay the $15 million to $20 million needed to buy out Miles and his staff, the source told ESPN".

Rest of the story is in the link

Hasn't actually been fired yet but good chance it will happen. Nebraska fired Bo Pelini last year and is paying him $120K a month through February 2019 for the privilege.

    That's a lot of dough.

Miles got a better deal than Mike Price.

Always remember to....sign....that contract as soon as you can!

^ LSU ended up deciding not to fire him.

As a comparison do you think the Bengals would be stupid enough to give Marvin Lewis an NFL contract like that?

    LSU keeps the fella, ay?

Dunno on the Bengals. Lewis has been there for a long time and has a good rep.

A lot of NCAA coach contracts seem a bit odd.....

Was both right and wrong about the NFL contracts. The Bengals give Lewis a one year contract extension year by year. Right now he's signed through the upcoming season but I anticipate they'll give him another year. But the 49ers just fired their head coach one year into a four year contract and they have to eat the rest of it. Without researching it I supposed they're gonna eat somewhere between $4 a $8 million. And it sounds like the Eagle would have owed Chip Kelly $12$-13 million if he hadn't been signed by the 49ers.
