State your postion? ex Hooker reveal all

At a mere 1.84 or six foot laid properly I was shifted left from prop forward to hooker.
Many years since I was fit enough to beat the Kiwis ! best I could muster was Kent 7s,my cousin played on until his 40s and my dear old man actually played in WW2

In todya's game no 10 still controls, where did you play? Good luck to all the teams,Kiwis still favourite yet England must be in with a good chnace at home,Australia France or Ireland as runners up?

I was a prop. Then, when I went to university and all the other boys were schoolboy internationals, I boxed clever and became the touch judge for my team.

I played centre in the 1st London U16s team to beat South Wales.....and that in Llanelli and against Phil Bennett and Derek Quinnell. The Welsh got their revenge by getting us all horribly pissed....drinking age, closing hours, ha ha ha!
My school team also won an Oxford Schools Sevens tournament. The senior competition was won by Millfield with the incredible Gareth Edwards....who in 1973 scored "the greatest try of all time" in conjunction with Bennett and Quinnell.
Bloody hell, don't ask me how many years ago this all happened.

At school, I switched between 6 and 8, then at Uni moved to loose head prop and that's where I stayed. Proudest moment was playing for london fire brigade in the pouring rain, pass evaded my eyesight and bounced off my head which ricocheted over the try line, which as I was already in the process of falling over, I landed on with my left hand and scored the winning try by complete accident. Of course, in the bar afterwards, I claimed that I did it on purpose, but no one believed me.

    fullback , centre , wing

proudest moment was being on the team of 8 who won the Mount Isa inaugural rugby 7's - having only 1 interchange was a bastard

Scrummy. I was a year younger than the other boys in my grade/form/standard, and only sprouted at about 15. Roughly the time I discovered LSD, weed and the inner workings of the Punani.

    Rugby took a back seat.

Thanks Dave for the happy memories. Sorry, I'm too computer illiterate to post youtubes, or even photos.
Like the Kiwis, I was mostly tackling Phil Bennett's shadow....a fantastic side step. And even at U16 level he was dropping goals from the halfway line (I played against him a couple of other times....but didn't mention them because in those games I was on the losing side !!

    MUCH easier than pix

All you need to do is cut and paste

aybe in next millenium TD will update bulletin board to ease photos its an old grouse a member here CSSFAn has the knowledge and offered advice which is as yet to sink in, I think TD will be down to a monkey posting to his multi-nicks befre anything changes
