Tiger Woods is officially back to being shit

Never going to break that majors record now, is he?

Tiger Woods has dropped out of golf’s top 100 for the first time since 1996.

The 14-time major champion was ranked 225th on 29 September 1996, but claimed his first PGA Tour win at the Las Vegas International the following week and rose to 75th in the world.

The 39-year-old, who is on a self-imposed break from the sport, went on to spend a record 683 weeks as world number one and clinched an unbeaten 79 PGA Tour titles.

Woods has not competed since the Farmers Insurance Open in February, an event he withdrew from because of a back injury. That followed a round of 82 in the Phoenix Open in January – his worst round as a professional.

Woods's chances of playing the Masters in April are thought to be "50-50", according to close friend Notah Begay.

    Extremely odd...
Here he was, top of the sport for years - perhaps considered one of the greatest golfers ever to be, amongst only a few of his peers.

    And than the scandal.
Stepped away [PR strategy] for a short time.

Returned - hasn't even been the shadow of himself for a couple of years now.
Psychological, a few minor physical ailments, etc.
Falls behind the pack through many tournaments.....in some instances he hasn't even made the cut.

It's not as if he's an old cvnt, waiting to join the seniors circuit either.

All the pundits say he will bounce back [from years back] - but he hasn't. Not close to his old form.

How sad to see people gloating like this.

Woods gave us many years of fantastic displays of Golf ability and sportsmanship, but always when the prospect of his matching or beating the record set by Jack Nicklaus there was the unspoken caveat "if he stays healthy".

Tigers' powerful, explosive Drives etc. were always going to be a problem - stored up over time; most human bodies are simply not made to accommodate those forces long term.

Now 24 Handicappers or worse creep out of the rough and smugly say "I knew he couldn't do it".

    Pathetic.

    Typical stuff from Harry

He was front of the line to shout "You're only as good as your last game!" at Sampras many years ago too.

    The rise and the fall.

Oh well I would subscribe to a celebrity golf day with Tiger, We could talk about how much He missed his Daddy, just like My Son will eventually have to endure one day.

Tiger dominated the game and his achievements in the sport will not be equaled or surpassed for a long time.

I think we know why Hairy hates him so much.

Harry's not allowed at the country club that Tiger frequents?

I genuinely think that the scandal hit him hard mentally...... at the end of the day the difference between the greats and the also rans is the top three inches and the heart.

They can all play all the shots but it's having the resolve.

He used to see himself as invincible and he was to his opponents. Being caught out shook him, he never felt it could happen to him.

Once his lost his own feeling of invincibility his opponents stopped seeing him that way.

Shame, he was the greatest for a period, and would have cracked the record with ease. I don't ever see him coming back as strong again.

I agree Bob (strange I know) he was a control freak and he psyched everybody else out...but that was always going to end with these young guys coming through who are pretty tough mentally for their age...add to that his knee and back problems that he was probably covering for longer than he let on...and he is stuffed...what does that show...that Jack Nicklaus was one hell of a golfer...and he didn't have to compete against the quality that Tiger has had to.

Tiger changed the game playing the sport in a way that made every other golfer lift their game.

The fact he is part Asian made Asia take notice and many took up the game seriously because of him and his success.

Was he great? Certainly..........Is he an arsehole socially???????/ Who gives a toss.

Still, it's not the same without him...He was the one athlete who came along and blew the whole fooking world away...

Much like Gretzky, when I heard of some of the stories in the media, I could hardly believe it...In hockey, we had a youngster that fooking near scored 100 goals in a single season...Unheard of...And if he didn't get over 200 points a season, it was almost a disappointment...Guys that got him in their hockey pools automatically won, so they had to count him as two players to make the betting pools fair...Can you fooking imagine it?...(But he still wasn't the best...Heh...That was Bobby Orr)

And then comes Tiger...Now, golf is far more popular worldwide than hockey, I would assume...And here is this kid, out of nowhere, winning damned near every tournament he entered...Fooking unheard of...Un-fooking-believable...Arguably, never had a golfer before him won so constantly...I mean, for fooks sake, if he came even second, it was nearly a collapse...Heh...

He was the only athlete I remember seeing and saying "That kid is a billion dollars"...The only one...

What a draw he was...And still is...Forget the fooked up arrogant side, or whatever else...

There are so very, very few who transcend the sport like that...

Tiger started tinkering with his swing. When he injured his left knee I believe it was his game took on a subsequent forced swing approach to his game.

His mental approach was affected by his diminished abilities to do what he was able to do in the past.

He's soon forty years old...that's not overthehill, but in golf terms its unlikely that his skill sets will recover to their once pristine form.

Wife problems, multiple Charlie Sheen type escapades and dabbing into illegal substances have all been part of the declining package that was once the greatest golfer in the world. Its to bad, he had all the tools, but in the end his dad was right,"If you marry you'll never live up to your potential."

I miss Tiger, but then I miss Babe Ruth and I never saw the Babe play...

I do not feel bad for that douche bag. He had one of the most beautiful women ever and he squandered that. He needs to eat what he served.

I think he had several of the most beautiful women ever (some at the same time, and mixed in with some skanks).

Shame he let it ruin his golf.

    He's just an overpaid sportsman.
Sucking on an already fantasy-filled society.

    Nothing to look up towards.
