the first race will tell everything...not just down to speed but crew as well.
Our sailors aren't poached for nowt.
The boats are pretty even, we have proved we sail well in light conditions, and our guys are even better in the rough stuff.
    Bet on Black.

They are hot at the moment.
The lessons of 2003 seem to have been learnt.
No "cutting edge" gear failures, The crew work has attained almost perfection, 5 races, no obvious mistakes and consistantly slick work.
The Italians said the Kiwi's did everything just slightly better than ourselves, put it all in the mix and it adds up, 1 or 2 seconds on each drop or hoist just keeps cumulatively adding up.
I feel a bit sorry for the Ozzie helmsman, he did bloody well but was victim of some tatical errors and sadly a boat that was just slightly down on pace and more critically couldn't match the NZ boats acceleration out of tacks.
Alinghi have a battle on their hands, hopefully they will be crapping themselves right now. They have the advantage, being able to quantify that which they are up against, although I suspect the Kiwi's have a bit in reserve.
Of course their main disadvantage is the lack of battle practice.

Brad Butterworth always reminds me of Fitzy -"it's a game of two halves" - with his ability to state the obvious
"You could call it a rematch or you could just say these are the two best teams left in the cup at this stage," said Alinghi skipper Brad Butterworth.
"I think the fastest boat will win."
    both kiwis of course
