3 up the arse for the Eytalians

The Italians can't sail either, firstly they couldn't find anyone to sail their dingy so they hunt around eventually finding an Ozzie, who was up until now the best thing since pasta. Now that the Kiwis are shagging them silly the Italian press is calling for Ozzie blood. Plonkers.
Team New Zealand goes three up

BY GREG FORD in Valencia - Fairfax Media | Monday, 4 June 2007

THIRD TIME'S A CHARM: Challenger for the 32nd America's Cup Emirates Team New Zealand flies the New Zealand flag after defeating Luna Rossa Challenge of Italy in Race 3 at the Louis Vuitton Cup in Valencia.

The Italian media was baying for blood after Team New Zealand thrashed Luna Rossa in race three of the Louis Vuitton Cup.
AMERICA'S CUP BLOG ... FANS' REACTIONS

James Spithall's head could soon be on the chopping block after Dean Barker handed the Luna Rossa helmsman a sailing lesson for the third day on the trot.
Before Team New Zealand rounded the second mark the Italian press walked out of the media centre in disgust.
They were unable to watch the carnage on the water. The final margin was 1min38s.
Team New Zealand led by a whopping 39 seconds at the first mark and added a further 26 at the halfway point.
It was a magic first beat by the Kiwis - probably their best yet considering Barker lost the start.
Spithall out-manoeuvred him in the dial-up (when both teams, side-by-side, sit statically in the pre-start).
Barker was forced over the start line and had to back track making a low speed turn while Spithall built momentum and accelerated away after the start gun.
It looked grim, however, not all was as it seemed.
Barker had tacked towards the committee boat end of the start line taking the windward position.
In just a couple of short minutes he had hauled in and then surged past Spithall.
It was a heady decision by Barker, his afterguard and weather team, to give up ground and win the right.
Barker has a repution as Mr Nice.
But he showed, once again, he has a ruthless streak.
He forced to the layline towards the end of the first beat sending dirty into Luna Rossa's sails.
Barker extended his lead by another 26 seconds. Game, set, match.
Spithall and Luna Rossa skipper Francesco de Angelis will now come under immense pressure from the Italians syndicate's fans, sponsors, owners and press, who are notoriously volatile.
But there may actually be little they can do. The Kiwis are in red hot form. But they also appear to have a boat speed advantage.
Neither team, for some unknown reason, will admit it. But the data doesn't lie.
On the first beat both teams sailed on a long port tack to the first mark.
Team New Zealand were creating wind disturbance for the Italians. But they were also noticeably faster.
Earlier in the the beat they also sailed in a higher mode. Again, they had better pressure. But they also generated more grunt from the 10 knot breeze. Spithall must now be tiring of watching the stern of Barker's boat. He's trailed in every leg of the series so far. He will enjoy a brief respite tomorrow. Both teams have a lay day. But in the volatile world of America's Cup sailing, he may just have to walk the plank, sooner rather than later.

Sam was actually born in ireland although to a NZ father, as for Russel Crow, what an arse hole !

Crowe has been involved in a number of altercations in recent years which have given him a reputation for having a bad temper. 1999, Crowe was involved in a scuffle at the Saloon Bar in Coffs Harbour, Australia, which was caught by a security video. Two men were acquitted of using the video in an attempt to blackmail Crowe.
When part of Crowe's appearance at the 2002 BAFTA awards was cut out to fit into the BBC's tape-delayed broadcast, Crowe used strong language during an argument with producer Malcolm Gerrie. The part cut was a poem in tribute to actor Richard Harris who was then terminally ill, and was cut for copyright reasons. Crowe later apologized, saying "What I said to him may have been a little bit more passionate than now, in the cold light of day, I would have liked it to have been."[13] Later that year, Crowe was alleged to have been involved in a "brawl"[14] inside a trendy Japanese restaurant in London.
In June 2005, Crowe was arrested and charged with second degree assault by New York City police, after he threw a telephone at an employee of the Mercer Hotel who refused to help him place a call when the system did not work from his room, and was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (the telephone).[citation needed] The employee, a concierge, was treated for a facial laceration.[citation needed] Crowe described the incident as "possibly the most shameful situation that I've ever gotten myself in... and I've done some pretty dumb things in my life".[15] He was sentenced to conditional release, and paid US$100,000 to settle a civil lawsuit out of court.[16]
Crowe's temperament was parodied in an episode of the cartoon South Park titled "The New Terrance and Phillip Movie Trailer". In this episode, Crowe is the star of his own, fictional TV series: Russell Crowe: Fightin' Around The World, in which he travels the globe in his tug boat to instigate altercations with strangers of different nationalities. Crowe's temperament was also parodied on the Australian Seven Network skit show Big Bite in 2003. The Network Ten show The Secret Life of Us was parodied on the show as The Secret Life of Russ. The "phone incident" was parodied in Scary Movie 4 when Brenda is dreaming, one of her lines is "Look out, Russell Crowe's got a phone!"

I think I would rather say he is Australian. As for MR Pavlova, dunno him.

Crowe is a cock,no doubt at all.I remember a few years ago he got in a fight with one of NZ's richest men(Eric Watson) in an upmarket English pub. Eric, who started off life as a butcher apparently gave him a good slap around the ears too.Good job. He's an Aussie now. They deserve him.

Now back to the Americas Cup.Starts at 8PM tonight.Off to Tuskers to watch it,then off to barfine CMn's bird....

    I liked this from a commentor :
As they crossed the line we saw the Kiwi version of the high five, a subtle raise of the eyebrows.
