    World Club Tens Photos

I spent the weekend in Singapore at the World Club Tens. My son was playing in the junior tournament but they lost in the Semi Final to the eventual tournament winners so missed the chance to play in the new 55,000 seater National Stadium.

My club (now region) Cardiff was also in the tournament along with the Brumbies, the Auckland Blues, The Asia Pacific Dragons plus others.

I managed to get myself full press accreditation so was able to take pictures at pitch side.

Sadly I lost over 500 shots due to an administrative error including some excellent shots of the Brumbies win over Biarritz amonst many many others. Pretty pissed off, but that's life and I can't change it now.

There are 120 shots on my website, here is a selection. If you want the link just ask, and as long as you are not someone I consider a TD retard I'll send it to you. I'll send it to some of you in advance.

The new Singapore National Stadium. Built on the site of the old one, it seats 55,000 and has a very roomy feel to it with a very wide concourse running around the whole stadium. The crowd on the Saturday probably got up towards 15,000 which was good, bit of atmosphere but not crowded so no queues for beer, beer or beer.

Auckland centre Jackson Willison. You can see how Sandy the pitch was. Got worse and worse as the tournament went on.

Auckland captain and all Black Piri Weepu.

I actually saw his Test debut in Cardiff, November 2014.

In the commentary box, probably my favourite rugby player who isn't Welsh. Lets hope he can get fit again soon.

Brumbies back Jesse Mogg, this boy is seriously quick..... probably the player of the tournament, scored plenty of tries.

    Last action one here

The winning try for the Brumbies..... the score was 10-5 with Cardiff pressing, Owen Williams went close under the posts, but the Brumbies survived and broke out of defence. After getting cardiff on the back foot this is the try that sealed the game.

He isn't from Canberra...he is a Queenslander who started as a junior with the Brisbane Broncos...shows how much scouting is done by union there now...his cousin is assistant coach at the NZ Warriors NRL club.

As always close to the action Bob.

    Great pics as usual.

And with regard to the sandy pitch I suspect the welsh lads serious neck injury was caused but the softness of the pitch. His head seemed to almost disappear into the surface upon impact.

Anyway any news on how he is fairing?
