Dennis Rodman has been under heavy scrutiny in the United States for his relationship with North Korean leader King Jong Un.

Retired basketball star Dennis Rodman has checked himself into an alcohol treatment programme, his spokesman said, just days after returning to the United States from North Korea, where he ignited a furor over comments he made about an American citizen held prisoner there.

Rodman voluntarily entered an alcohol rehabilitation facility several days ago, according to agent Darren Prince. The location of the facility was not disclosed.

Rodman returned to the United States this week after a trip to North Korea where he attended the birthday party of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Earlier this month, Rodman apologised for comments in which he suggested Kenneth Bae, an American missionary imprisoned by Pyongyang, had himself to blame for the arrest.

"It had been a very stressful day," Rodman said earlier this month. "My dreams of basketball diplomacy were quickly falling apart. I had been drinking. It's not an excuse but by time the interview happened I was upset. I was overwhelmed."

Makes sense to me. Had he stayed home in US converting all the heathens there, he wouldn't have landed in the NK slammer.

The term probably has different meanings in the UK, but the one I know means 'fanciable' - women usually use it for men they think are handsome and desirable. For example, one of my ex-gfs used to say I was 'lush'...

(I did drink heavily at the time, so I may have been mistaken!).

The guy is as dumb as a box of hammers.

He was a great basketball player (you can't argue with all those rings)- now he's basically become a Kardashian- I do kind of hope he heads to NK again- now that's he's recanted a bit on his love for the 'dear leader', they'd probably end up keeping him out of spite.

DR was a great rebounder and a good defensive player. Zero offensive skills. The 1st half of his career he was so painfully shy that he wouldn't say shit if he had a mouthful of it. Then something happened (drugs probably) and all of a sudden he craved attention and went with the clown act. Died his hair, got all the tats, rings & things, cross dressing, & became a liability (except on the court). He changed teams quite a bit. Each team had to weigh how much having separate rules for the erratic Rodman would fuck up your team compared to his unselfish play on the court. Now he IS a Kardashian or a Paris Hilton - famous for being famous.
