Should be a good 6 Nations this year. I'm very excited about the way the England squad is shaping up. We already have the best pack and some of the talent coming through in the backs is looking very promising.

Wales, are looking shabby. I think the fight has gone out of them a bit - it's almost as if they know the last WC could've been theirs and they're too past it for the next one.

France are France. They look world beaters one game then Scottish the next. They also have a lovely habit of getting the white flags out when England play them; let's hope they continue with that when we meet in the opener.

The one team who I think everyone is underrating is Ireland. Just because GOD has retired, doesn't mean they don't have a good team. Now that they're got rid of that Seppo poof, they have an extra tackler in the middle of the park.

I'm sure it'll be the usual battle between the Jocks and the Wops for the wooden spoon.

    Oi reckon:

    England
    Ireland
    France
    Wales
    Italy
    Scotland

That makes sense too. Badly drawn up regions aren't gonna please the supporters.

The England France game will decide where the six nations is going. England need to win the set piece consistently, something they are incapable of presently.
A hooker and a srum half who can actually deliver would help.
The forwards are ok in the loose but hopeless at the scrum and lineout.
    Hope I am proved wrong.

    Ireland dark horses.

If our Italian American is there then we have an excellent scrum. Our lineout is improving, we have 3 or 4 good young second rowers with Dawes maturing very well with Northampton's European experiences.

Sorry Betty but if the hooker gives away lineout ball or penalties we are fooked.

In the unlikely event that we win ball form a set scrum, you have to hope that Vunipola or Morgan can actually distribute the ball.

Wales fear they will be over the hill by the next World Cup.......555555...,

Second youngest team at the last one reached the semi finals tells me something different.

Well you got it completely wrong last year marmite as you do most years.
It was a good six-nations last year when Wales slaughtered your mighty England
but not from das Englander's point of view suffering that horrific defeat that cost them the Grand-slam, and the Triple crown....IF England want to win a Grand slam
this year and put ten years of misery behind them then they'ed better start scoring some tries and stop depending on penalty's to win them games .

Yes Bobcock and I hope Wales TROUNCE them again this year.
The English always assume that everyone else has short- memory's.
By the way does anybody know if Austin Healy the ex-England player honoured
his wager when he bet every man, woman and child in wales that England would beat them and walk away with the Grand-slam???? I'm willing to bet anyone one million baht HE did not, but that's the English for you.

England-France game will decide was said last year, never happened. France ended up with the WOODEN SPOON AND ENGLAND SUFFERED THEIR WORST DEFEAT EVER against the mighty Wales........I believe England scored 3 points in that game
from one penalty. Why can't you English Herbert's wait until the ball's been kicked then start deliberating how the games going to pan out. Sorry I forgot it's called arrogance.

Ahh.... but but Steve Walsh..... England clearly had the best scrum and Steve Walsh.....

    Just out of interest matmite.

Could you name England's 'the best pack' so we can see how it compares to what's picked.

They certainly don't come close to the best back row in the competition for starters.....

If you want to know something about Rugby Union then you should ask anyone
    except marmite......PERIOD.
On the other-hand if it's about Fantasy-rugby, marmites your man.

    It's quite simple really.
France have 3 home games, but you never know which french side will turn up.
England have Wales and Ireland at home where England should have the advantage. Scotland and Italy should be easy meat for England.
The only real uncertainty is the England France game.
Of course it is entirely possible that England will fail as I already pointed out in my previous post. It's the variables that make it so interesting and worthwhile watching.
Nothing to do with arrogance. England have a decent side which is developing well under Lancaster. Given the very large pool they have to choose from, they should dominate the competition. The fact that they don't dominate makes the competition all the more interesting and worthwhile watching.

I always have a bit of a giggle when reading predictions on sporting events as most tip with their heart and not their head.

I basically look forward to a real competitive event and as the Ashes series this year was a non event I hope the NH Rugby teams put on a decent show.

My heart says Ireland but I expect the winner to come from Wales or England.

Wasn't talking about the actual team's arrogance , more your supporter's arrogance.
Take yourself for example in your post#30 and yet you think engerland are going to do very well. Don't forget chass Italy ran England ragged last year and were unlucky to walk away losers. England had a more than a decent side last year and Ireland were unlucky to lose on penalties in a no-try game. As I've already stated all the shite you and marmite have spouted this year was spouted last year and look what happened. Egg on face time and shoulda , coulda , woulda won't cut the mustard. Wait until the games actually start eh.

I think England will win it, but I'll be suprised if they Grand Slam.

Wales wil lose both their away games, they could even lose to France at home.

They are due a down year and this will be it. Post Lions years are often tough on the team that did well on the tour and that was obviously the Welsh. Life can be a bit of a comedown.

Ireland I think were flattered by the performance against the All Black's and I also think the defeat will not have helped them Several key players are missing as well.

At the moment I see no 6N team looking particularly good for the World Cup, except for the English who of course will start as pre-tournament favourites in the eyes of their supporters and media after this year 6N win.

    England
    Ireland
    France

With the top 3 interchangeable on points difference.

    Wales

    Scotland
    Italy

i'd be astonished if we don't finish top 3

when did we last have the italians first up?
    think that's massively advantageous

gives some of the injured backs a bit of time to recover

france and england have none of the fear factor
    more concerned about the bogtrotters

I can't see us winning at Twickenham....it's going to mean just sooooo much to them and after all, it's probably their turn....

Funny though discuss this with an england rugby supoporter and most of them are blindly convinced that they beat us year in year out, denial is such an amazing thing.
