Superbowl Champs . . . who will it be?

I must admit to liking the NFL ever since my Chicago days - and I did freeze my nuts off at Soldier Field several times . . . though I don't think t compares to Rugby. I've downloaded quite a few games and it now looks very interesting and tough to predict

    Anyway, that's neither here nor there . . .

These eight are left so let's have a bit of a poll (bsnub's vote is obvious )

    Chargers in Denver

I think Denver has it all over the Chargers . . . oh, for the days of Fouts!

    49ers visit the Panthers

Odds on for a QB to get the highest rushing yardage . . . the 49ers beat Green Bay in freeeeeezing temps so the panthers shouldn't be too difficult to overcome.

    The Colts in New England:

Looking at the Colts in ther last game I would suggest an upset. Colts

    The Saints in Seattle . . .

Yup - I'm with bsnub on this one. Seahawks

And to win the whole shabang?

    49ers.

Not bad, I hope praying does not affect the actual outcome of the poll. Cheers.

Seahawks will take a close victory over New England.

Many tanks for the greens - but sadly I can't see who is sending them due to the mods still banishing me from certain areas.

Not worry, though . . . very much appreciated!

Thin is, AO, they all pray and think God is on their side - kind of like in any election there . . . God told them all to run . . . so we could all have a laugh.

Jeff, are you being regional in this? As in Seattle is closest to Portland and therefore the 'home' team or d you think the Seahawks are the best team this season??

    Fair enough if so.

I took seahawks to win the whole thing at the start of the season. Current odds:

ODDS TO WIN NFL SUPERBOWL XLVIII
    CAROLINA PANTHERS +975
    DENVER BRONCOS +244
    INDIANAPOLIS COLTS +2100
    NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS +720
    NEW ORLEANS SAINTS +1750
    SAN DIEGO CHARGERS +1600
    SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS +585
    SEATTLE SEAHAWKS +238

The number in front of the '+', for those not familiar with weird seppo style odds formats, represents how much you win if you wager 100.

barring injuries, i see the seahawks and broncos making it to the superbowl...but right now it's nearly impossible to predict who'll win that game, because it's being played in new jersey....outdoors. god only knows what the weather will be like.

that said, it's bound to be cold, and manning's only won a handful of big games in cold weather so i'll take the seahawks, and hope for some epic 'manning face' as things don't go the bronco's way.

That didn't bother the 49ers much at Lambeau Field

No votes for the Patriots yet . . . I did have the chance to see them pay at Gillette Stadium when I was working in Hudson, Mass . . . didn't compare to Chicago.

i picked the seahawks and broncos....the seahawks play inside and manning has a rep for coming up short when it's cold.

because the best non QB position player in the NFL is injured (gronkowski) and another amazing TE is in jail on murder charges (hernandez). if they were both playing, the patriots would be the overwhelming favorites to win the AFC and probably the superbowl.

Oh well, it seems my dark horse, the Colts were smashed . . . and the Seahawks are looking menacing - bsnub and Jeff are looking good for some greens if they go all the way

All the American football pundits and their newish love affair with the "up and coming" Indianapolis Colt and their boy, Andrew Luck.....a wise and veteran NE Pats put them in their place.

The Seattle-New Orleans game. Closer score than the match and final score indicated.
    The Seahawks were dominate.

interesting that 90% of the votes are for either the niners or seahawks.

luck had a tough night...but he did beat the pats defense on a couple of deep passes. that could be a big problem next week.

jesus, the seahawks are cocky. nothing wrong with that if they can continue to back it up, though.

i can't remember the name of the saints receiver who didn't step out of bounds at the end of the game, but i'm sure everyone in new orleans can remember it. what a bone-headed play.

    speaking of bone-headed...

Expect a close game, AO! I believe defences will secure the day....
Both are evenly matched and worthy to advance.

    Niners * 17-13

Thanks for that prediction RS. One nice thing we have going is redemption. They beat us in the "rugby scrum" game 10-9. I do feel we have improved a lot since then. Trying to figure out my circadian rhythm pattern now.

Going against the odds. Patriots to win it all. Best coach in the NFL. He knows how to win.
Patriots over Seahawks in a close one.

Lets wait and see how the Pats do in Denver, and who wins with the Niners and Carolina.

I do agree norton. How do Belecheck and Brady do it. Mind power, and today they had Blount who was out of this world. They are not the best team, not by far. But they win.

The games from today on in are going to be really nice. All the over paid player including the stars are going all out now. Hence the large amount of injuries in each game played so far.

Knowing the outcome of those games would make the pick much more accurate.

Being a bay area boy my sentiments are with the 49ers since my Raiders have adopted a new motto. "Just lose baby lose". Where is Madden when he's most needed

belichick and brady are one of the best (if not the best) coach /QB duo in NFL history (3 superbowls victories, and 2 other appearances)and few have made money betting against them....but IMO the patriots are not as good as their record this year...they won a lot of close games that could have gone the other way...

    23-21 (bills)
    13-10 (jets)
    30-23 (falcons)
    30-27 (saints)
    34-31 (broncos)
    34-31 (texans)
    27-26 (browns)

it's really too bad they lost gronkowski again.
