Thread: Weightlifting World Championships

The big cranes are in action tonight, the 105 kilo class from 19:45 on Eurosport, and the 105+ kilo guys at 22:00. The all lift weights in excess of 200 kilo. Interestigly, the open class with lifters frequently in excess of 150 kilo bodyweight only marginally more than the 105 kilo men.

Outside of Boxing, Weightlifting was one of my favorite sports , I admit I have now lost track of it since I came to live here in 03 ,but one of my favourites of all time was this little guy in the 64 kg class his lift in the clean and jerk of 187 kgs was at the time mind boggling

I've been watching. Amazing what these guys and gals can do.

Great competition in the superheavy class, 2 guys C & J 255kg. That's rare.
