I just watched the fight. What a fucking joke.

Haye seems to think he's like Sugar Ray Leonard but he's got the boxing talent of an angry old drunk getting thrown out of a pub at closing time.

^Meaningless pantomime of a fight, tbh. Haye (and Bellew) is a much better self-promoter than a fighter these days, hence the English interest and hubbub over this crap.

^^GGG taking care of business in the Middleweight division. Nasty KO of Vanes Martirosyan in the 2nd round. Vanes was a lightly-regarded challenger, though admirably stepping in at late notice to take the fight after drug-cheat Canelo got caught out before the rematch with Golovkin. Didn't see any of the other supposed 'top' 160lb-ers stepping up for this chance at the top dog.

This week, possibly the best boxing matchup of 2018 (so far), the boxing purist's wet-dream of Lomachenko v Linares at 135lbs. Possibly the two best technicians in the sport taking each other on for the Super Lightweight titles. Loma probably the top P4P fighter in boxing right now, though going up in weight to take on a 2-time champ Linares. Should be a beaut.

Hughie Fury very impressive stopping Sam Sexton for the British heavyweight title tonight. Sexton down in the 4th and twice in the 5th. Ref spared him more punishment. Wicked variety of head and body shots.

Fury moves like a middleweight and at 23 has a big future.
Cousin of Tyson Fury, Hughie lost over 12 to Joseph Parker for the WBO title last time out. Parker was unable to blow him away as Fury kept moving.

I had Parker winning by 6 rounds and his superior quality and class was evident, despite him having an "off" night. Fury didn't disgrace himself.

Fury has bigger fish to fry than the Sam Sextons of this world.

Lomachenko/ Linnares is going to be a candidate for fight of the year. What a battle. No spoilers though.

^Best fight Ive seen in more than 5 years, tbh. Bit of everything; technical brilliance from both fighters, back and forth momentum, great knockdown, and rallying from that 10-8 round deficit to score a one-punch KO.
Wow. What a fucking great fight.

Some great action at Light Heavyweight yesterday. Reigning LH king Adonis Stevenson taking on highly-regarded challenger Badou Jack for Stevenson's long-held (WBC) strap.

No spoilers if anyone wants to see it without knowing the outcome. Just to say that the 2nd half of the fight will be up there as a "Fight of the Year" candidate for 2018 (along with aforementioned Loma-Linares) in what is turning out to be a golden era for boxing right now.
The Light Heavy division particularly is stacked up with some real killers in the mix at 175lbs.

In his book he talks about travelling all the way to Chiang Rai on rickety transport with Johnny Nelson who was fighting a Russian heavyweight. Apparently it was worth the trek.

    They took fights anywhere

Yes, sad to hear. Trained up to WC, the likes of Johnnie Nelson, "Prince" Naseem Hamid, Herol "Bomber" Graham, etc. Great boxer trainer, and mentor to a lot of kids and related charities and organizations in the Sheffield area. RIP.

Bit of boxing action from last night. Japan's Naoya Inoue moving up in weight for Brit Jamie McDonell's WBA Bantamweight title.

Although Inoue looked the much smaller man, "Monster" showed why he is so highly-regarded in the sport with his frightening punching power. Ripping through McDonnell
in just a couple of minutes. https://www.badlefthook.com/2018/5/2...l-in-one-round
    Fight here while it lasts:

^Another Brit in action yesterday. Doing a bit better than our mate at Bantamweight..

Kal Yafai defending his WBA Superfly title in the States against tough Mexican challenger (who came in 4lbs overweight). Yafai normally not this aggressive, obviously wanting to make his mark in the US. Cracking fight, if you want to seek out the full match. (Highlights only on this vid).

Superflyweight now a division really packed with talent, and headed by current No1 rated; Thailand's Sor Rungvisai. Some great matches hopefully soon at 115lbs.

Can Jeff Horn beat the odds against Terence Crawford on Saturday?

On Saturday, Jeff Horn will put his WBO welterweight title on the line against unbeaten former two-division world champion Terence Crawford at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada (ESPN+, 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT).
Horn, who is ranked No. 5 by THE RING at 147 pounds, arrived in America on May 30. The unbeaten Australian is looking forward to the opportunity to prove himself against one of the best fighters in the world in the boxing capital.
“I am excited,” Horn (18-0-1, 12 knockouts) told THE RING. “I always pictured myself fighting in Vegas eventually. It just shows some dreams can come true. The next part of that dream is winning.”
The 30-year-old former schoolteacher is acutely aware of Crawford’s abilities but remains unfazed and confident of pulling off the upset against the 1/9 (-800) odds-on favorite.
“Crawford is a very slick and skillful boxer,” he said. “He has many skills which allow him to adapt and switch styles to work against his opponent. I feel I have the style that will upset anyone in a fight, no matter what they plan for.
“It is critical to my career to hold onto my belt. To win this fight against America’s best on their soil will be a massive leap forward for my career and legacy I would like to leave

Clowning around with Sefer Seferi yesterday.

Say what you want about Fury, but he's usually a very civilised guy towards his opponents

The fight with Seferi is a joke. The guys is a clown who is basically just a blown up cruiserweight. Most of his opponents are a joke and have losing records.

    Some examples;

    5-42
    7-62
    14-30
    10-24
    10-33

I could go on but I think I made my point. Fight should not be happening at all.

Last year he was Albania's second best cruiserweight

I doubt Fury will look to blow him away. Its all about getting his timing and range back.

Either way Seferi will certainly earn his money

^Yep, it's a "gimme" for Fury to re-enter the Heavyweight scene and start over again. He had the talent and ability to beat anyone on his day, this is just a showcase to show people he's back in the mix.
Let's see what he still has left.
