Bale has gone to Real Madrid

Done deal. A couple of weeks ago.

It will not however be announced until the end of the transfer window, this has been negotiated by Spurs so thet they don't get gouged on players ala King Kenny / Andy Carroll.

This is why Bale is supposedly injured.........

I wonder if they got £100 million for him. I think if he goes there he will shine.

Neither is Bale, Bale is from Whitchurch and a former pupil of Whitchurch High School.

And from which red top toilet paper did you get that "exclusive".

Although it looks like Spurs are already spending the winnings admittedly.

Wigan put in a bid, but apparently no real demand for meat and potatoe pies down south.

Given a choice between Man Utd under new management and Real Madrid I am sure Bale has enough sense to know where the silverware is going to be this season.

I wouldn't underestimate the influence of his working with Ryan Giggs at MU, as Giggs is there for the long term having joined the coaching staff as well as still playing (for this season at least). This from Bale's 'Wiki' page:

"Growing up, his football hero was fellow Welshman and Manchester United player Ryan Giggs.[12]"

Not only is losing Bale likely not to prove anything like the teeth-gnashing hand-wringing crisis it was expected to be, I think it may prove in retrospect that the loss of Modric created a more serious problem than the loss of Bale will have if he does go.

Bale had an amazing season (or two), scoring every time it was important. A great time to sell him, I doubt he will be so influential again...

Won't be quite as easy to look the star player at Real, will it? Who knows, maybe the intra-squad competition will bring out the best in him.

I'm glad he didn't, by the way, but Real is probably one of the teams that needs him even less than ManU does. I'm not really sure why Real want him quite so badly.
Gareth Bale is too expensive, says Real Madrid legend Raul of Spurs' star man - Telegraph
Real Madrid legend Raul believes Tottenham have overestimated the price of Gareth Bale as his former club continue in their pursuit of the Welsh forward.

    ^ he's right.

I used to think he was nothing more than a decent left back with a bit of pace...

would've made a decent right back with his pace. Don't like him as a bloke though...

Ronaldo is a better player than Bale, but rarely does it in the important games against the top teams whereas Bale did put the ball in the back of the net and play his best in the big important matches; maybe that's what Real Madris are interested in?
