^True enough. He's a lad from Scotland, that's not England in their book. I'd have to say England's still waiting.....

Anyroad up, well done to the young man, i'm sure he's made thousands of people very happy and proud.
Thousands?, nah Millions , but I dare say many of a certain political persuasion who hate success storys would have been quite peeved at him receiving the totally "obscene" sum of 1.6 million quid plus all the millions he will get in endorsements for a couple of weeks work

Congrats to Andy. Magnificent play. Hear Brits are making noises about a Knighthood for the lad.

That was the first all-Scottish final:

    Andy Murray and Jock O'Vich.

He would fit right in nicely with fellow Scottish OBEs.

I don't do football but have found Scottish fans to be the best there are. They look at a two nil defeat as a good result so when they actually win they tend to get a little over excited.
I have only ever watched one football match in my life. England Scotland Euro 96. I was on my two weeks at home and all my local haunts were showing it so went out and hired a kilt, sporran, Kiss my arse I'm scottish T shirt along with a ginger wig and a big fcuk off Russ Abbot type Tamashanty and went on a pub crawl by myself.
one of the best days on the piss I've ever had.
I did loads of peoples heads in when they found out
    A I wasn't Scottish
    B I hated football.
I can remember being in my local when Scotland got a penalty. i rushed forward to stand under the TV ready to show my arse to all the England supporters and he went and saved it. It was all downhill after that.
Gazza, now sadly in the news for being another celebrity drunk was in his heyday and was dazzling.
I even got stopped by the police staggering home at 3am and they gave me a lift home.
Having worked with two guys from Goven for years I sort of became an adoptive Jock.
I do miss tatty scones and square sausage at times
Treat everyone as a complete and utter idiot and you can only ever be pleasantly surprised !

NATIONALISM IS AN INFANTILE DISEASE. IT IS THE MEASLES OF MANKIND.

Who gives a fuck where he's from. Who gives a fuck where you're from. All that matters is how hard you are, and I'm fucking solid.

A bit of a bummer that the winner of 'Sports Personality of the Year' has already been decided by the first Brit to win Wimbeldon wearing a pair of shorts.

If you're looking in Andy and i know you will be, (BangkokAndrew? ) then just like to say you were bloody awesome mate. Smashing the No 1 tennis player in the world into submission in straight sets is no mean feat. Certainly better prepared mentally for the tournament and credit to Lendl and team for pushing you to greater things. Fantastic 12 months, more ahead hopefully. P.S. Don't ever put your fans through a final game like that ever again.

Did you notice just how surly Djokovic has been throughout this tournament though? Trouble at home maybe. He even had a little McEnroe moment in the final.

Sweaties don't have personalities, so how does that work?

I didn't realise he'd gone the whole hog. I thought he was just spinning a few discs and playing pool in his retirement.
