    Cup Final Wigan Athletic

I was trying to explain to a Thai bird that you can divorce your wife but never change your football team.
I've been saddled with Wigan Athletic and will be in BKK for their first ever Cup Final. Are there any other unfortunates who support Wigan and would like to share the debatable celebration of our success..

    Cheers

Good luck with your premiership match tonight. A win against the swans will make for a very interesting finale to the season. A. Villa at home being the final match.

Would be nice to see them play well at Wembley. Only a Tevez goal seperating them recently so hoping for a reversal on this occasion.

If they defend like they did last night, they're going to get stuffed like a christmas turkey.

    You have my sympathies.

When Southend squeezed into the JPT final it really felt as though just getting to Wembley was the real achievement. I couldn't see them winning, and they didn't.

Wigan were lucky to stay up last season, if they stay up this season too I may suspect sorcery.
I see fish. They are everywhere. They don't know they are fish.

Wigan have been given permission by the F.A, to have their chairman Dave Whelan lead them out.

Whelan broke his leg in a cup final as a young man ending his career. To have got himself to the position in life, where he now owns a club that is in a cup final, is a fantastic story and it's a nice touch by the FA to allow him that moment.

    Come on you Latics.

I hope Wigan can surprise everyone and turn Man Shitty over at Wembley ........ provided they then lose next tuesday at Arsenal so they can't catch my team (Saints) as we would like to stay in the premier league. Thanks!

Born under the majestic peaks of the Wigan Alps I was to grow up despising Wigineers
as us from Leeth were obviously a far superior race. Then bugger me Maggie Bleeding Thather made us part of Wigan Metro. To confound my youthful knowledge of the world not only Men who liked the company of other men started to watch football. Thankfully I was long gone by then. But I do "cheer" for the latics as they seem destined to be the 4 Lancashire team to be relegated recently.

    DO miss Waterfields pies!

I wouldnt be surprised to see Wigan win it. They were unlucky at the Etihad to lose to Man City the other week.
They may stay in the Prem too. You would have to be the supreme optimist to envisage them pulling all that off in the next week though, unless they can unearth a couple of Harry Lyons

Harry Lyon is Wigan's record goalscorer. It was nearly half a century ago that Lyon ensured himself a place in club legend, and in the small print of FA Cup history. In a first-round replay against Doncaster Rovers, the non-league side found themselves down to 10 men when he was carried off with a suspected broken leg. The story goes that Lyon, born, bred and raised in these parts, swallowed a couple of painkillers, washed them down with a brisk tot or two of whisky and returned to the fray to score a second-half hat-trick that won the day.
They don't make em like that anymore

YA YA so they get relegated and some of the big names in Europe have to use Google to find which country Wigan is in. But what about Waterfields Pies!

I'm going for Wigan just so that City don't win it!

I can't see Martinez doing the great escape this year though, so if they do win the Cup, it's Charity Shield then down to the serious football of Division 2 (Championship). By then Martinez will be long gone to Goodison Park.

Fuck knows what Chelsea have been doing with the cup. The bloke who's been maintaining it for 20 years, has been moaning it took him over 80 hours to repair it this year instead of the 38 it normally takes.

We should have been allowed to keep it by now anyway, what with how many times we've won it in the last 7 years.

    Until next season.

Imagine the side spliiting laughs you can have if your first away match, instead of being Man Ure, is Bournemouth or Yeovil.
