PHILADELPHIA - Brian Westbrook received an extra $3 million from the Philadelphia Eagles in an accounting error.
The star running back intends to pay the team back after getting his roster bonus twice. However, the Eagles filed a grievance with the NFL against Westbrook because the money hasn’t been repaid yet, a team spokesman said Saturday.

My mum worked for the council for 25 years or more. They overpaid her a small amount in her wages over a couple of years - she told them so many many times and they continued to do so. In the end it was about 1,000. She's now retired and the council started sending her letters threatening her with court action unless she paid it back. It's civil servants like these that give petty-minded shit-headed pen-pushing fck-faced bureaucrats a bad name.
Back off Margaret, you're on a sugar rush!

Danbo, your mother should have just put the money in the bank and earned the interest off and when they came knocking on about it, pay em back. She knew it was an overpayment.

Exactly, she deserves to be locked up for stealing 3 million pounds from the local ratepayers.

We had free gas due to Transco's incompetence. We tried to pay British Gas but they couldn't accept a payment until Transco had told them that our gas had been connected. Just as we sold the house they decided that they now wanted paying and if I told them my new gas account number, they'd just double my bill. I told them to get lost as I was just about to leave for sunnier climes. The debt collection agency managed to get my Thai phone number, but as they spoke Thai worse than I did, they got a bit confused and left me alone.

I'm with you guys - I was the one who put the council onto her, and that was only because the police weren't interested.

In my bad days I signed up with every gas seller that came to the door. Paid several months to 5 or 6 of them, then queried each as my supplier and started demanding refunds from them all, and as soon as they told me in writing that my demand is frivolous because they've been supplying my gas I shot off small claims against the lot of them. Got all my money back plus legal fees, and left them to figure out who was actually supplying my gas, which they didn't and I knew they wouldn't because my mate in a gasco told me they wouldn't, so it ended up free. Didn't save me a million, but great satisfaction in robbing the robbers.
