    Fantasy League

For all the followers of the fantasy league the good folk there have put this on the front page:

    Next season
Fantasy Premier League will start again in July. To receive an email when you can select your new team, please enter your email address in the box below.
A great idea to remind you when to get your teams in. I hate having to rush like I did last season. I trust the usual suspects over on the otter channel will have another league going and if there's enough rivally here we might have our own competition with a prize going to the winner.
    <hint, hint>
So pop over and drop them your email addy and wait for the call!!

I take it you've been here Harry..

Basicaly you have to select 15 players for your team.
The blanked out profles represent 2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 3 strikers.
You select a player from the list (RHS click on players and then the money range) click on the player and he pops into your team, click on the down arrow once he's in your team and he pops out.
Fill your team but note the diminishing pool of money as you buy players.
You've got 100 mil to fill your team that's 6.66 mil ave per player so you can't pack the team with stars.
Also you can only pick 3 players from each team.

    players list

Somewhere on the menus there's a rulebook I suggest you spend a while clicking on all the optons on the right side of the screens.

To join a league, pick your team and click on leagues, the screen prompt will ask for the team code, enter and your in.

    ajarn's league no. is 19226-4126

    You can join 5 leagues.

Off the top of me 'ead that should be a start but feel free to ask anymore Q's.

Arthur's Hammers are in. The squad is provisional, as soon as Pardew signs a decent striker he will be put straight in my team.

    My humble appologies Harry.

I'm not good with words. I'm an English teacher.

 I will be heading home shortly, whence I will give it a go. By all accounts the budget for players in minimal. *pity* I have to come up with a team name as well, something to *muse* over whilst eyeing up suspicious Arabs carrying suitcases on the London underground.

The budget is a lot tighter this time than last year.

The canny players had 2 defenders 5 midfielders and 3 strikers last term but they have made 3 defenders mandatory now.
So the idea was to buy 3 naff defenders as cheap as possible and leave them as subs. That gives you 2 quality backs and if you could....5 scoring midfielders.

Now you have to play 3 at the back reducing the strikers to 2 because they're too expensive to have 3 good 'uns.

It's going to be trickier this time and who can afford Henry, for foks sake?

Last time he was my captain so his score was doubled each week but at 14 mill he's going to weaken the rest of the squad, hard decision I just hope he has a barren run.

Hooters half-castes will be duly registered.

A tip, don't pick any *Chelsea* players coz their rotation system will kill your final points tally.

I would agree, although I think Cech, Terry and Lampard will start every game if fit. However, putting all three in your team means you don't have a great deal to spend on the rest of the squad. The squad rotation is more of a problem with Man U players, even Rooney will end up on the bench sometimes.

My squad are still busy playing cricket, but I should get most of them back before the start of the season.

They were the first 3 I selected and I soon found out I couldn't afford Lampard.
I can't believe how much the prices have risen. I don't think I could buy my squad from last year for less than 115 mill.

Keep in mind that to win the ajarn league last year the average return per game was 55 points!!
    Cech total 178p
Henry 231 double these as he was cap
    Terry 196
    Lampard 269
    Pires 174
    Riise 160
    Duff 159
    Hasselbaink1152

for a total of 1591 or 42 points a game.
cost for this lot is 63.5
leaving 4.2 mill for each of the 8 remaining players.
But will they get a game?

Well I hope this was an open invitation 'cos Bobby's Bulldogs have just become the 4th entrant.

I couldn't justify Henry's cost, so I'm banking on a fully-fit RVN flourishing alongside Shrek.

Mind you if last season is anything to go by, everyone I select will face a season blighted by injury. If you've selected RVN, Terry, Hyypia or Gerard, you may wish to sub them now.

    Most welcome Bobby.

If you did pick Henry and he got injured early it's doubtful whether you'd be able to buy him back.

    Ruud and Rooney eh?

I recommend Cech in goal as he's only 1 mill more than the next best and Chelsea have got to be most likely to keep the most clean sheets again. He's one of the rare good buys at this stage.

Who will be this years Andy Johnson?
    Cheap but and scores 20!

    *Dedicated to Arthur*

Well, they're back in from swilling beer at the MCC, and all need some intensive training to get the lard off. A poor season methinks.

    Added after 54 minutes:

OK, here are the useless wankers.

    1: Martyn
    2: Clapham
    3: Purse
    4: Matteo
    5: Lampard (C)
    6: Pires
    7: Wright-Phillips
    8: Zenden
    9: Crouch
    10: Bent
    11: Keane

    Subs
    12: Poom (Goalkeeper)
    13: Thatcher (Defender)
    14: Carsley (Midfielder)
    15: Jensen N (Defender)

No Hammers in the squad, you've got no chance.
