So we have the teams for Saturday. Hopefully the Baa-Baas turn up this week!
British and Irish Lions team: Hogg; Cuthbert, Davies, Roberts, Maitland; Farrell, Phillips; Vunipola, Hibbard, A Jones, Gray, O'Connell (capt), Lydiate, Tipuric, Faletau.
Replacements: Youngs, Healy, Stevens, AW Jones, Heaslip, Murray, Sexton, North.

Looks a little dirt-trackish to me.

Barbarians: Jared Payne (Ulster), Joe Rokocoko (New Zealand), Elliot Daly (London Wasps), Casey Laulala (Munster, New Zealand), Takudzwa Ngwenya (Biarritz, United States), Nick Evans (Harlequins, New Zealand), Dimitri Yachvili (Biarritz, France); Paul James (Bath, Wales), Schalk Brits (Saracens, South Africa), Martin Castrogiovanni (Leicester, Italy), Marco Wentzel (London Wasps, South Africa), Dean Mumm (Exeter, Australia), Samu Manoa (Northampton, USA), Sam Jones (London Wasps), Sergio Parisse (Stade Francais, Italy - captain).
Replacements: Leonardo Ghiraldini (Treviso, Italy), Duncan Jones (Ospreys, Wales), Andrea Lo Cicero (Racing Metro 92, Italy), Jim Hamilton (Gloucester, Scotland), Imanol Harinordoquy (Biarritz, France), Kahn Fotuali'i (Ospreys, Samoa), James Hook (Perpignan, Wales), Mike Tindall (Gloucester, England)

1 day to go - can yo uhear the roar?

    Bobcock - you in HK?

Okay the result is out. What is the history of the Barbarians, they have a long History,as I do recall watching a black and white projector of them playing at Twickenham many moons ago. What is it all about?

Deans is just about finished fucking up the Wallabies Squad.
After having an almost full roster to choose from, Beale is still pissed and weekend injuries to AAC, Higgs, Pyle, join the rest of last weeks injuries.
His son in law Dr.Phipps joins the squad ahead of the far more talents Brumbies Nic White...
It would be funny if not so tragic...

Let's hope you recover enough for the doctors to allow you to see the Lions in Australia. Meanwhile, keep taking the tablets and get as much rest as you can.

I doubt the Lions wanted to face a full strength S15 side first up, they need time to gel.

Probably a tougher 'first' game (I know it's their second game) or second game that they have had for a while, some of the recent in country openers have been against unknowns. There were 6 capped wannabees there last night.

nor will they, any of the S15 sides will be missing a couple of players or more who will be rested for the Wallaby matches.

Will be interesting to see if the Lions will get as much clean ball with Beau Robinson on the rampage. Big task for Sam, especially with Tipuric playing so well. If I was a betting man, I might be tempted to chuck a monkey on the Reds, 8/1.....

Not a bad side, big test, some good players on the bench.

Mind you the Lions bench is awesome.

Yep, recovered just enough to watch that nail biting, or should I say 'arm biting', game against the Force. Things looked a lot better.

Well this is a pointless match they are playing. Gutting f any of the Lions got injured in this. Got to assume that ARU are deliberately trying to undercook the Lions with all these barely opposed training events posing as matches.

^ why don't you go read up on the history of your Lions tours and get back to when you have a clue.

Edited my first response to this load of gash.

The reason it is a waste of time is that almost every match so far has been weakened squads, so there is little difference between the bigger event matches and this show boat "something for the joe blogs players" which were just a distraction to the main event. Deans is keeping all of his star players tucked safely away, and with the complete lack of depth in Aus clubs, this means that the opposition is lacking.

Second reason is that, unlike in 2001 where Rugby was spluttering into being Pro so a gentle run up was required, it is the reverse now, and these players lose their conditioning if they are not playing first grade matches. To play a few weeks of trotting out against the good ole boys is a complete waste of their time hence why Gats is training at test match intensity and will leave them under cooked and not match fit. This appears to be a deliberate ploy by Deans and the ARU. NZ and Safrica did not disrespect the Lions like this, and it is no surprise that people are saying about this tour that it should be the last one to Australia, and perhaps South America with 3 tests against Argentina would be a better event.

Aussies are generally clueless about the Lions. Kiwis and Saffas typically get it though, hence why they do not devalue and discredit the exercise by deliberately putting out understrength teams in the run up to the tests.

dullard. RTead what I wrote again. The S15 teams should be full strength so that therefore the weak opponents are not as important. Four days, waiting for support that never came, and that is the best you can come up with.

Aussies - never have and never will understand the Lions which is the best reason why in 12 years time they should ignore the Aussies devaluing the event and take the road show to South America.
