    Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final

OK, I know, this isn't the highlight of most people's year but on 7th April Southend United and Crewe Alexandra meet at Wembley to establish whether Southend will need to buy a trophy cabinet.

Southend's appearance in the final has been a remarkable achievement with them winning the Southern region semi final on penalties after substituting their goalkeeper in the 89th minute, and then proceeding to win the Southern region final with a 90th minute goal.

Is this being televised, and if so is there any chance of us seeing it in Thailand? I just have to see whether Southend have another rabbit in the hat.
I see fish. They are everywhere. They don't know they are fish.

The only decent cup final to be played any more. Much better than the gay Euro poofball in the EPL.

At least the cup can't be "bought" in the way the others are.

.. and Daveboy, I would describe myself as a "follower:" rather than supporter. I am not really that interested in any other team, but Southend were my local team... well until I moved to London and Millwall took over that mantle.

Half time and Crewe are winning 1-0

Southend have done well to keep the score this low. Hopefully the second half will be bettter.

    tis looking grim, 2-0

57th minute and Southend bring on a third striker, Barry Corr plus Ben Reeves, the Southampton defender on loan who has also found the new this season.

77th minute and Southend bring Freddy Eastwood onto the pitch. Four strikers but the gate may be open for Crewe to score more......

FT 2-0 Could have been a lot worse.

Thanks for the link but I couldn't get it to work so followed it on ESPN. Thanks for the thought though.

Southend's lineup was very defensive and still they couldn't stop Crewe. No complaints really, Southend were very lucky to get to Wembley at all.
