Is it too late to say I'm a Storm supporter?.

Almost time to start discussing Origin.

Yeah, the storm look pretty much unbeatable unless they pick up a lot more injuries than their oppositions.

Why the fuck are they playing the ANZAC day test on the 19th?

SBW has been in outstanding form.

Indeed and It looks like Sonny Bill is starting to grow up and could become one of the greatest players ever.

His cut out passes after he had drawn 3 defenders to an unmark players is unplayable.

My memory might be bad... but I thought it used to always be played on 25th.

EDIT: Just checked. The last time it was played on 25th was 1997.

I would have tipped the whole round, except for the Dragon's field goal. So close but so far.

S.B.W out of the ANZAC test.

Storm look to good at the moment but as usual we lose a boat load of players over the Test and Origin period.Hopefully Bellyache has a plan in place to get the club through this period without too much damage.

Just heard that Storm 5/8th Gareth Widdop has signed a 4 year deal to join St George.

Didnt see that one coming,I thought he would have stayed put with the rest of the U20 boys who won a premiership together and will form the backbone of Storm in the years to come.

Must have been some offer from the Dragons.

looks like Jamie Soward is headed to the Panthers.

"As long as I've known Jamie he's been a match-winner, he's been a point-scorer, he's been a points creator. He's now played in a premiership-winning team, he's been coached by the best coach in history in Wayne Bennett. They're all things that (he) can impart positively on the Panthers,"
    Phil Gould.

Enjoyed the test, some controvertial ref decisions, but they seemed to always go Australia's way, too bad for the kiwis.

The Dragons didn't try too hard to keep him.I don't think anyone other than Bennett could knock the moodiness out of him.

Brookvale Oval 26/5/2013 30,000 in attendance, close enough to capacity.

The near capacity crowd didn't do the Sea Eagles much good though on that evening.

I had a look around Brookvale when I was in Sydney in February before the beginning of the season - as far as I know, Brookvale Oval is a council-owned facility and, when it's not in use by the football club or any other organisation that has hired it for use, is open to the public to wander around. In the time I was in Sydney there was a meeting attended by some leading politicians (Tony Abbott, Bronwyn Bishop - both of whom expressed their support for Manly) about the future development of Brookvale.

To me, it appeared to require some major development if it want to be a major sporting venue. The facilities looked pretty basic considering rugby league is (arguably) the leading sport in that city and Manly is (arguably) one of the leading teams in the national competition. Making comparisons with other venues in Oz UK, I was surprised how basic the general facilities were.

Despite this, Manly seem to perform well.

^ the redvelopment is on the books, lobbying taking place to raise funds. Like any other old timer I would miss the old, but that's progress.

No stadium has the atmosphere of Lang Park.

And I'm a true Blues supporter.

second best is Lleichhardt Oval for a close up... but I might be a tad biased with that one as I've played on the field and am also a Tigers fan.

Leichhardt Oval is much the same as Brookvale, isn't it Tizme? Council owned and a bit rundown.

I must admit it's a long time since I've been in that neck of the woods but I seem to remember seeing a game on TV there last season sometime and it looked pretty much the same as a long time ago.

No team liked to travel to the Graveyard. It was as parochial as any I've been to and that is plenty.
