Afghanistan Rugby - Really? Yes, and they need kit, not money...

Right ho chaps - time to dig out all your old kit / boots / socks / tour shirts / balls / kicking tee etc and get them all together to send off to Afghanistan. Doesn't need to be new or in good condition, as the lads out there think that something is better than nothing.

If you live in the UK, there is a chap in London, ex army, who has arranged for stuff to be sent out by them. There might be a guy in the US who is exploring that as well.

Anything you have or can give them would be greatly useful, especially female kits (yes, the girls are playing as well).

So let the global rugby brothership help these poor bastards develop into a proper Rugby nation as opposed to a wendyball one. Let me know if you have some stuff and we'll try and get a package sent over at the end of Feb.

(Anyone in Thailand that rotates to Afghanistan....you can do us a favour and take it with you)

Was kind of thinking that as well.

There a collection from the UK going in Feb, and ideally want one from here as well. It'd simply a case that they have nothing. They have some cash but its stupidly hard for them to buy good kit so basically the more the merrier.

(Oh, and you can get all your old kit sent as well) lol

I'd be more than happy to donate some of my old kit, keep me up to speed with what's happening from here. Phuket 10's might be a good collection time/point.

I have a pair of boots (size 10) that are in very good nick (I stopped playing just after I bought them). PM me an address and I'll get them in the post.

I suppose I should check that they haven't rotted into a pile of dust first...

Good oh. Just hold fire a week or so so I know if it can be sent to someone who is actually going there. The Customs there are bigger robbing bastards than the Thai ones funnily enough, so being accompanied is preferable.

I reckon they would show some nifty ball handling skills- kinda like pass the parcel in an Irish pub. Wouldn't fancy being hooker though.

I gave away all my non collectable shirts a few weeks ago.

    I'm down to 107 now.

I also gave away an kit I don't use as well, only got two pairs of shorts and 3 pairs of socks now.

Got loads of unused kids kit but that's already been promised to kits from poor schools who will be at Bangkok Tens in a couple of weeks time.

    Sorry mate.

    That's a dumb number.

Round it down by giving seven to me.

I've got a Wallabies jersey signed by David Campese- and no, they can't have it. Flying first class has it's benefits- met Campo & Gav Hastings flying to Oz for the Lions series, and a first class piss-up ensued.
