    League Cup final

Just read the report on the bbc website and saw this comment from Lampard in reference to the free for all towards the end

"People might say it's disappointing, but when you play a cup final at this level that incident showed how much players wanted to win it."

So what is unacceptable then - a player being hospitalised or killed or do the ends justify the means and that as long as you win everything is OK.

These guys are paid ridiculous amounts of money to play PROFESSIONAL football. I wouldn't make any apologies. In any other profession, everyone involved would be sacked without compensation.

The whole affair simply undermines all the good aspects of football. As a referee I would have been in two minds whether to cancel the game altogether at that point - a disgrace.
The truth is out there, but then I'm stuck in here.
