    2007 Six Nations

My favourite sporting event of the year.

This year looks like being a tight one.
No obvious favourites, Ireland maybe just.

And more importantly, no Aussie teams to spoil the party.

    The fixture list.

    Six Nations

    3 February:

Italy v France (Stadio Flaminio, Rome, 1330 GMT)
England v Scotland (Twickenham, 1600 GMT)

    4 February:
Wales v Ireland (Millennium Stadium, 1500 GMT)

    10 February:

England v Italy (Twickenham, 1330 GMT)
Scotland v Wales (Murrayfield, 1530 GMT)

    11 February:
Ireland v France (Croke Park, Dublin, 1500 GMT)

    24 February:

Scotland v Italy (Murrayfield, 1500 GMT)
Ireland v England (Croke Park, Dublin, 1730 GMT)
France v Wales (Stade de France, 2000 GMT)

    10 March:

Scotland v Ireland (Murrayfield, 1330 GMT)
Italy v Wales (Stadio Flaminio, Rome, 1530 GMT)

    11 March:
England v France (Twickenham, 1500 GMT)

I have tickets to Ireland vs France, looking forward to seeing rugby in croke park, great venue.82,000 sell out crowd expected.

I don't really care who wins the 6 nations as long as its not England, Wales, France, Scotland or Italy.

    Difficult to know...

The Ireland game next week is crucial for momentum's sake and it was great to see the scarlets going through a strong Euro group unbeaten.
On a limb I'll say we narrowly pip Ireland, beat Italy and Scotland lose to England and France.

I have to admit that Ireland vs Wales could go either way with Wales possibly winning because of home advantage, it's not a game i will be putting money on.

I still think that Ireland will be hard to beat.

Who knows about the Froggies.World beaters one day shite the next.

Pommies might be ok at home, but they got a shed load of work to do.

I think that the Taffs will lose to the Micks, beat the Jocks and the Wops and be very even against the Pommies. No idea about the Froggies though...

At least the 6 Nations is interesting because apart from Italy, anyone can beat anyone at the moment, unlike that shite boring comp darn sarf.

Wales will struggle, too many players out of form or injured.

Ryan Jones will be back, hopefully at 8, Michael Owen didn't even make the squad which was a suprise. Martyn Williams has been banned so hasn't played recently, triubles with injuries at hooker and the second row, which is traditionally poor.

Gethin Jenkins hasn't looked good since before the Lions tour, Shane williams and Mark Jones are injured, Luscombe is only just back from injury. Henson got injured last night, would have started at 15 allowing Alfie to play on the wing.

    Generally, it all bad news.

Ireland though will shoot themselves in the food and fail yet again to do the business.

Wales team to face Ireland: K Morgan (Dragons); H Luscombe (Harlequins), J Robinson (Blues), J Hook (Ospreys), C Czekaj (Blues); S Jones (Scarlets, capt), D Peel (Scarlets); G Jenkins (Blues), R Thomas (Blues), C Horsman (Worcester), I Gough (Dragons), A Wyn Jones (Ospreys), A Popham (Scarlets), M Williams (Blues), R Jones (Ospreys).
Replacements: M Rees (Scarlets), Duncan Jones (Ospreys), R Sidoli (Blues), Gavin Thomas (Scarlets), M Phillips (Blues), C Sweeney (Dragons), A Brew (Dragons).

Gareth Delve injured, gavin Henson injured, Shane Williams injured, Mark Jones injured, Gareth Thomas banned, Brett Cockbain injured.....

sadly this side is not good enough to beat Ireland.

Strange as well that he's picked a pack to 'dominate' Ireland up front which is the polar opposite of traditional Welsh strengths.....but then he is a gypo from Llanelli!!

No one can agree on shit.

    Is Henson injured?
I thought he had been dropped for being not very good.

    YUP.
    Henson very much dropped.
This is what gyppo had to say..

"My concerns about Gavin are based on the pressures surrounding him and the press is one of them," Jenkins said.

"He hasn't got a moment when he isn't being scrutinised. We haven't talked about the starting 15, we haven't talked about the 22. This is all you seem interested in.

"He is not good enough to be in this team. He is one of 33 players around me in this squad and he will be treated like everyone else in terms of selection criteria. I will be judging him week by week during the campaign.

"At the moment he isn't playing his best rugby, but he is very talented and he is in an environment here where we are working hard. This doesn't mean he can't get back into the Six Nations."

Happy with the pack but I've changed my mind.
The centres are third string at best, can see BOD having himself a field day.

not happy either about the grimey fingered mick conspiracy to have Gareth Thomas banned for simply giving the finger to one of Ulster's pikey supporters.
Imagine if he'd shown 2 fingers.
