    Match of the day, 1964-1992.

    Jumpers for goalposts?

Well not exactly, but a rather spiffing site has come to my attention which contains archived "match of the day" material from the mid-sixties until the early nineties.
This site has kept me amused for a few hours and has the potential to do so for many more.

Highly recommended for aficionados who long for terraces, boot boys, muddy pitches and proper tackling.

    Enjoy.

Frank Bough: Hero of sweater wearing, coke-sniffing, prozzie-shagging sportsmen everywhere.

I used to love the old "Match Of The Day" prog. Hearing the theme tune again, makes me think of fish and chip suppers, sensible jumpers, and commentators talking loudly over the "your gonna get your fuckin' 'ead kicked in" chants from the yobs in the (standing only) terraces. Real Football.

Struck me as a bit bizarre at the time.
Most ambulances seemed to go directly to the accident unit of the hospital rather than to the homes of people who had had their heads kicked in.
