    Pretty expensive in Bangkok.

Dozens of high quality courses in the Bangna Trad area.

Decent set of clubs and bag around the 12,000 mark.

green fees over 2,000 including caddie fee.
Another good reason to live in Chiangers.
Golf as little as 350 baht including caddie and No Little Chuchock... it doesn't include extras.

I might go there for shopping (buying thai style furniture) in the coming weeks. I am sure it hasn't changed much since I went there 5 years ago. What a boring shithole

I am thinking to drive there, could be fun.

Any gogos ? or is the town still sleepy at night after 9pm ?

Check out Thaniya plaza, Soi Thaniya, down the street from Patpong towards the park.

It is a golf shopping center, anything from new Taylor Made to used clubs. You can generally find some decent deals on used clubs.

Check around with some local bars/pubs, they often run outings on a weekly basis.

Witches Tavern (thonglor) and Hogsbreath (nana plaza) both come to mind.

You can play during the week at Bangkok Golf Club (Pathum Thani, south of Rangsit) for less than 2K including green fees, caddy, cart and 250 Baht refreshment voucher. The unused portion of the food voucher can be cashed or given to caddy as tip.

just lost my reply - internet is rubbish today.

but plenty of places are cheaper than 2K

try Rangsit - Muang Ake, Vista - about 1000K

midweek cheaper as is after 2.00pm on weekends ~600 plus 200 for caddy

there is a book that has info on loads of courses including maps, phone numbers, prices,

    look in Asia books etc.

Not the high quality places that I used to infrequently frequent.

There is also a great web site that gives all the details on most golf courses in Thailand.

    Thaigolfer.com - Thailand's Ultimate Golf Portal

No charge to sign up and you can keep your handicap posted on the site.

Yes, Muang Ake and Muang Vista are cheaper, however, you get what you pay for in my view. I consider the condition of locker rooms, showers etc. a fairly significant factor.

That said one of them had a really great restaurant, can't for the life of me recall which it was.

Another consideration is the quality of caddies, especially if your not familiar with the course and greens.

Too each their own I guess.

I think that somewhere between 1500 and 2500 baht per round you can get some really decent experiences. That is pretty cheap compared to other areas of the world where golf is popular.

    I agree but not ChiangMai.

    BTW Roc.
I have recently found out that furnishing a work permit will get you a round for half the price on the courses in ChiangMai.
Something I had never realised in the past.
If you have one take it along and see what they say.
