    Websites for learning guitar

I have quit drinking and need something productive to do for the next month while I confine myself to the house.
    Bought a guitar.

Can anyone recommend a good website for very basic guitar instruction.
    Thanks.

Why don't you learn to play the bagpipes? My brother started when he was 40 years old and is actually pretty good now.

Of course his wife threw him out of the house.

They didn't have websites about this when I started playing the guitar. Why don't you get Skulldigger over to teach you?

This is a quote worthy of a single smiley response

I played guitar and piano before I discovered girls, drugs and that listening to someone else play was more fun than sweating up on a stage. Want lessons?

So whats the long term plan?

Is the guitar just something to do with the 55 seconds between chang shots?

    people of such little faith.
I have also started doing the weights everyday again.
I shall be rippling by April.

also, since quitting last week I have spent an average of 200 baht a day.
( as opposed to the normal 1,000 plus, a saving of around 20,000 a month)

I'm gonna treat myself to a big new motorcycle if I can go a year.

CMN, are you a complete beginner? If so, learn a few simple chords to begin with. D, A7 and Em are all pretty easy chords, should be good to start with. The next step is to learn basic strumming. Decide now if you are going to use a pick or the fingers of your right hand. The techniques used vary a bit.

Another approach would be to list a few songs you think sound reasonably simple and would like to learn, and take it from there. It's usually much more satisfying to practice stuff you really enjoy listening to, instead of doing the usual ones: Tom Dooley, Knocking on Heaven's Door, Proud Mary, Hotel California.

I could relate it to the guitar

Hello everyone, Iím thinking about getting guitar lessons. Iíve been teaching myself for a while. Iíve played the violin for 10 years, and I could relate it to the guitar but I figured if I really want to play the guitar, I should get lessons. How much should I pay for the lessons? How often should I get them? I need your suggestion. Thanks a lot in advance.
