    Forget you had a daughter.

Just read this book. Shit. No good at all. No hard drug taking, no sadistic bum-raping by menacing gangs, no summary executions by the guards or any of the interesting stuff you would hope to find in a book supposedly about the Bangkok Hilton.

Thai prison was rather nice, I got a bit depressed, caught a lovely tan & made friends with Rose West when I was transfered home. Thaks to my family, the embassy, etc, etc. What a crock.

I should've known when I only paid £3 for it at HMV.

Anybody got the title of a cracking book please? The kind that makes you sick when you ponder the fact you unwittingly took a rolled-up joint in my - did I say mine? I mean your - bag through Bkk to Schipol.

Well, there is "The damage done", by Warren Fellows, some Aussie who did 10 years or so for heroin trafficking. It's supposed to be based on his true story. It's badly written and unbelievable in parts.

But you wouldn't forget a used syringe in your jacket pocket again crossing borders after the read.

I recently read another one about an Irlish guy banged up in Bangkok for a murder he didn't commit (apparently). Much better than the Fellows one. I can't remember the name of it at the moment, but wonderfully gory.

Having said that, I enjoyed 'forget you had a daughter' and give the author credit for her amazing stoicism.

I didn't get that from this book. All she ever did was bleat on about the injustice of what had happened & how she would've been better off if this or if that & chronicle the different states of depression & exitement she was going through from one day to the next. Ok at the end (after her release) she reflects on things like you suggest but other than the final 20 pages she was a complete - understandably - emotional lump.

    Thanks for the help though.

Just watched "Inside The Real Bangkok Hilton" - a UK documentary worth downloading from Bit Torrent. Featured that Manc scum who got banged up a year or so back for trying to smuggle in 30,000 Ecstacy tablets in two jars of hand cream. Came across as a right fcuking twat.

Got to feel a little sorry for that guy. He has a mental age well below his actual age & was truly stupid.

How do I download that documentary or where do I find it? Missed it.

I did a visa run to Penang one time and instead of pulling out some change at a 7-11 I pulled out a bag of weed that I'd forgotten in my shorts and had subsequently gone through the wash.
