What is the worst album you have ever bought?

So guys what is the worst album or most disappointing album you ahve bought over the years?
For me the winner is

Stoneground - Stoneground

I saw them play live on The Old Grey Whistle Test, thought they were special went out the next day to see what I could find.
The local record shop only had one item and that was a double. No problems they were that good so it would be worht it so i thought.

To this day i do not think i have played either record in its entirety.

Sheer crap in my humble opinion. I am sure that their mothersloved it

can't say I've ever heard of that band - sorry

anyway, not sure what the 'worst' album I've ever bought is so I'll think up crap ones at random

Do you like Iron Maiden Troubled?

Their latest album (A matter of life and Death) is real fucking dross - one or two good numbers but the rest is just dull - sounds like how they did when they got lumbered with Blaize Bayley as lead singer (re: the X factor) -

Oasis are fucking shit these days - I bought one of their more recent albums when I was last in Thailand - ended up binning it to cut down on weight



I've heard that Stones album as well- pretty dull old fodder I agree

:D highschool band from the east bay c. 1965, "The Immediate Family" Gained popularity in the local area Proximity to SF during the fillmore heyday is the only reason they ever got to travel or make an album. Couple of the core players lived up the street from me during high school.

The origianl drummer, Michael Mau (forget the spelling) was an acquaintance, ran into him in a hoilding cell spun-out like top, eventually got sober enough, ended up with a music store in Concord California then staterd and import business. Mostly SE asian, hippy type stuff.

The band went through some changes during it rise to fame. Yeah, local boys make good, I bought an album. ONE album never played in it's entirety either, fuckin embarassing. never mentioned the group to any of the original members lost interest real quick, they were OK for a street party or school dance. Couple of teh IF group were al lthat were left at that time any way...

Fuckin got me remeberin'. So, Looked em up on the web the got a site: The official home for The Stoneground Band Only original member TIm Barnes. one of the dudes lived up the street from me.

Fuckin' small world ain't it?
Wonder if they're playin' school dances again or what?

Radiohead's Kid A was a major disappointment after their earlier good stuff.

Sorry no fan of Iron Maiden.
Don't buy much stuff these days at all and neither do I download anything of the net.
All my vinyl stuff ended up with the ex.
Just listen to my aging CD collection.

My most suprisingly good buy was an album called Trains, Planes and Automobiles by a Danish band called Cloudland....I got it from a charity shop for 50p and it turned out to be one of my favourites....can't find anything about the band though and nobody else has ever heard of them (including Danish people)

^Actually after a bit of Googling it might be an Album called Engulfed by a band named Trains and Planes and Automobiles on the Cloudland label, but I'm pretty sure they were Danish, or Norwegian....

I like saxaphone, so, I have quite a few CDs by Stan Getz, John Coltrane, Sam Riney, Sonny Stitt, Joshua Redman etc.
A friend knew my likings for Sax music and gave me a recommendation for a bloke I'd never heard of before, so, I bought the CD.

One fo the best albums I ever bought; Love Sculpture (name of the group). I bought two albums, I remember one was yellow, one was blue both ad teh top half of the voer rounded to match the curve of the LP. Great blues band for the UK. While I was away workin' forthe state some one burglarized m pad, stole only my albums (great blues collection maybe 200 lLPs). Never heard of them since. Just googled 'em though might be able to get some Mp3s :) tings are lookin good...

Love Sculpture - a nice balst from the past Dave Edmunds.
Try getting a hold of some Chris Farlowe if you like Brittish blues - a great voice in his prime.
I read your earlier post about john Mayall and agree the vocals let him down

FOund the yelow album I had in "almost" mint condition for $92 US Think I paid $3-4.95 back in '69 or '70. :D

Most of my collection was older missippi blues men/women like Nathan Beauregard, Furry lewis, Manc Lipscome, Koko Taylor, Some early Bonnie Rait(t?) Some early BB king Not much even by then he was losig his "edge." Buying (and playing) their LP in the company Ikept for it. They held up quite well. Off topic I know, but that was the only album I regret losing. Replaced most of the other with CDs later in life. Best place in the world for obscure artists CDs is a record shop down the end of Haight near the park. Famous name, but I forget it (what the hell I need to know the name for? I know where it is) "Love Sculpture, Blues Helping" was the name of the album BTW. Found a place to DL the album for about 80 baht... :33: Hmmm Buy tthe album for about 3500 Baht or 80... Have to think on that...

Another album I'd like to get back, Grape Jam, Moby grape. LA boys playin the SF sound :) Their first two albums were fantastic. These can be bought today though eventually I'll get around to 'em. Saw 'em once up in a town called Rio Nido on the Russian River. We scored an OZ of crank in some pool hall in Oakland, took a drive... Fisrt I ever heard of the group.
The Bay Area was alot of fun back then :) Still is, just not nearly as much.
