It's only gay if you enjoy it and despite about 47 attempts over the years I never have...

Finally, after months of anticipation, it's finally come onto Torrent Day.
    Sometimes, Always, Never.
Starring the sublime talents of Bill Nighy.
A lovely movie, worth watching thrice.

Watched that this week. Very funny (black humour) tale starring Nighy as a Scrabble addict, looking for a long lost son.

Also starring the sublime, delectable, and still oh-so-do-able Ms Jenny Agutter.

Just downloading the first 4 episodes of the season. Will get back to ya.

Although skeptical, it does appear to be miles better than previous versions since The Punch.

    Coupla movies I like -

Man on the Moon (the story of Andy Kaufman - gotta love a good crazy man)

Private Parts - the Howard Stern story (ditto)

Yup, Dill was on it about the new season of Top Gear.

Very good. Flintoff does it very well. Definitely worth watching.

Watched it again on your recommendation. The movie rests entirely on the shoulders of Jim Carrey. Seems a bit dated now although I always loved the Tony Clifton schtick.

I don't know who recommended The Wolfs Call but good job. It's a great yarn.

Not on Middle East Netflix though; perhaps the Iranian frigate.....

I’m interested to know why you think it’s a bit dated given that the story is about the past and was when it was made.
Is it the style of film making perhaps ?
I’m not a movie buff hence the enquiry.

Andy Kaufman was still in our near memory when the film was made and he still retained an aura of mystery. Now he is a very obscure figure and it all just seemed a bit dated and irrelevant.

11.22.63, Stephen King gives the date we remember where we were and what we were doing when we heard; a portal appears, high school teacher takes the chance to save JFK against the wishes of time which doesn't like to be challenged.

Until multiple- and then infinite-dimensions are proven I disagree with the concept of time travel that interferes with a single blade of grass or the slightest breeze, much less full interaction. Otherwise predictable, well casted and watchable for a 6.

    The Raft (2018)
    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8116574/

interesting controversial documentary about the infamous Sex Raft from the 1970s, an experiment about human behavior in isolated environment

In 1973, five men and six women drifted across the Atlantic on a raft as part of a scientific experiment studying the sociology of violence, aggression and sexual attraction in human behavior. Although the project became known in the press as 'The Sex Raft', nobody expected what ultimately took place on that three month journey. Through extraordinary archive material and a reunion of the surviving members of the expedition on a full scale replica of the raft, this film tells the hidden story behind what has been described as 'one of the strangest group experiments of all time.'

Secret Obsession (Netflix). A cliche'd and utterly predictable "thriller" that probably should have been made by Lifetime or Hallmark (maybe it was and they rejected it).
