Cheers for the PB links dudes.

Not really much to report on from the Slap camp, although the second series of Making a Murderer was a 10-hour barrel scrape mainly featuring people trying to get rich and famous off the back of the first one. Currently on 4th series of Line of Duty which is pretty good and backing that up with another foray into The Shield - they don't make em like they use to.

"The Rookie". TV cop show. Not bad for mindless entertainment. Kind of like early "Hill Street Blues". Four episodes up so far.

^ i watched the first one but like Hill St Blues I couldn't get into it.

Maybe it's an American cop thing but I used to love Kojak, Starsky and Hutch, Miami Vice, Magnum and C.H.I.P.S. Have you seen the latest Magnum?

Five classic Brit ones which I dont know if you've seen or will get- The Sweeney, The Bill, Prime Suspect, Cracker and Taggart?

The 1st episode wasn't the best; it got a bit better. Haven't tried the new Magnum; didn't like the first one. I'll take a look at a few of the Brit ones; thanks.

I wouldn't touch The Bill with a shitty stick, it's a soap. The Sweeney is dated and low budget. Taggart you'll probably need Scottish subtitles <heh>

    Prime Suspect: Excellent
Cracker: Even Better (Robbie Coltrane plays the most brilliant character).

^ mate, youve just posted some oscar nominated musical chick flick.

    Here's one for you- Heartbeat

Some will be dated now, and The Bill did go on too long, but in its heyday that was the Brits 'The Shield' or 'The Wire'

Jimmy McNulty and Vic Mackey had nothing on Reg Hollis

Yes, and I clearly labelled it as such.

You on the other had.... The Bill in the same breath as Cracker and Prime Suspect?

    You're fucking delusional.

What next, Coronation Street and Eastenders?

    Oh dear.

This might just be a British thing that we don't understand - literally.
The movie blithely repeats most of the clichés of the American badass-cop flick, only in impenetrable Cockney.
Likely to be met with a mixture of laughter and audible groans amongst cinemagoers.
Goes nowhere, lost in the thick, indecipherable cockney accents and seemingly endless shootouts and car chases.
You'd be better off going out into the lobby for popcorn and a soda for the first hour

^Downloading "Cracker" and "Prime Suspect" now. May give up on "The Sweeney".

Cracker never really did it for me.

Prime Suspect is worth a try.

The Sweeney tv series was great at the time, but very low budget and it's ancient now. The Bill is, as Harry said, basically a soap.

^Am watching (right now) "The Sweeney" (movie, not TV series). It's not bad so far.

Finished. Quite enjoyed it. A bit dated, but so am I.

Narcos Mexico is on Netflix so I'm guessing it's on the torrents.
