Went and saw 'Thor: Ragnorok' with the kids yesterday.

Loved it. A rare one where we all enjoyed it (cf. say having to endure through shite like Transformers).

I like Taika Waititi's quirky sense of humor and it's cool to see it translate so well to such a massive movie.

Now I'm going to re-watch 'Boy', 'What We Do in the Shadows', and 'Hunt for the Wilder People'.

Geostorm (2017)

Big budget special effect sci fi movie with Gerard Butler about someone who hijacks weather-controlling satellites to use as a weapon.

Hi jinks ensue, but not enough to make it more than 5/10.

I was not looking forward to Season 5 of Ray Donovan after the TD reviews but I was pleasantly surprised.

A bit more cerebral than the previous series.

A bit more range given to the main character.

Hangman (2017).

A pretty run-of-the-mill serial killer film featuring Karl Urban in the lead.

Can't even be rescued by Pacino as his sidekick.

5/10.

Finally got around to watching Stranger Things (S1) and... I dunno.

I think I'd let it get built up too much so was a little disappointed.

In no way am I saying it was bad (I actually rather enjoyed it) and I get all the 80's nostalgia and homage to sci-fi/horror etc. but it just wasn't as good as I was expecting so left me a little flat.

That being said I'll probably still watch S2 (eventually).
