...Triple Frontier on Netflix: strong cast (Ben Affleck, Pedro Pascal, Oscar Isaac) about a heist of drug money from a narco king somewhere in South America...the plot becomes annoyingly predictable about 2/3 of the way through, but still worth a watch...

After Life is good fun...I know it's been mentioned already, so get that shit out of the way...

Never really knew Ricky Gervais before this...Maybe that helps...Thought it might've been Russell Crowe, at first...Heh...

A bit of a compassionate nature might aid in appreciation...perhaps...

Anyway, it's a good laugh with the character interaction...

Agreed. Decent actioner building up a gripping story line due to the personnel involved.

I quite enjoyed the first episode, the pedo jibe and response with the ginger kid and talking of jumping out of the window onto some cnut from accounts were funny, I thought.

"The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann" all 8 episodes on Netflix now.

    https://www.netflix.com/title/80194956

never followed this case at all at the time, even though it's one of the most high profile UK crime stories ever, so will probably find this series more interesting than most. I have a good friend who is convinced the parents were guilty. 11million pounds and 11years later and no sign of Madeleine and the Home office are still funding the investigation. Word has it that Scotland Yard will keep on investigating until they are all playing off scratch.

    Me too.
KATE McCann refused to answer 48 questions about the disappearance of her daughter Madeleine during a police interview in 2007.
    Why?

As expected, even though I am an Amazon Prime member, Acorn require a US Credit card for this to work, which is a shame: Acorn appear to have a lot of unseen shows I might enjoy.

So the quest for London Kills continues....

Seems like you shouldn't get your hopes up too much...

At times, “London Kills” veers from a “Closer U.K.” to a “Law & Order: SVU” spinoff that learned all the wrong lessons. The second episode is so overstuffed with twists, it practically caves in on itself. The few action sequences are poorly staged.

Speer displays the variety of emotion that suggests he’s been studying the work of “CSI: Miami’s” David Caruso. Small gives her investigator the backbone to shrug off what seems like sexist nonsense from her colleagues.

The finale returns to the central mystery and tries to depict how a psycho serial killer is created. It’s not convincing, and the acting is not up to the challenge.

Spoiler: The finale leaves enough questions dangling for a second season, which has already been ordered. There must be time to call that off. Some mysteries are better left unsolved.

The second season of 'Trapped' is getting good reviews, so I'm watching season 1.

It came out in 2016, so doubtless has been mentioned here before.

    I've watched 4 episodes of the 6.

    It's worth watching...nothing brilliant.

The blu ray version on tpb has English subs.

    7/10

If you're after hires versions of Aquaman, they're now available.

I downloaded the 13Gb version, a visual treat even if the story is a bit thin.

    Gets a 7.3 on IMDB.

I'm never much bothered what these pretentious wankers write, it's their personal choice innit.

    Fair enough.

I don't automatically think someone's pretentious just because they're a tv or movie critic.

Chances are if a dozen of them have concluded something's shit then it's probably not very good.

Admittedly the above was just one critic's view.

And a critic who clearly hated it.

    I mean I wouldn't trust this either.

'London Kills' episode 1 review: A complex murder, murky backstories and twisted revelations help Acorn TV's latest show shine

There's thrill, there are complicated, twisted, staged murders, but most importantly there's a tension, making it the perfect UK thriller of the season

And the first two on Rotten Tomatoes:

Despite a provocative title, turns out to be a rote crime show.

Five episodes, five murders, rather addictive.

Well I'd prefer all ten, and not in Russian which is the standard for the 5 eps that are flying about.

But you still need a US credit card, even for the free trial, which seems a bit of overkill.

I'm sure someone will rip the lot and dump it sooner or later (as I said, someone spotted it on a Kodi app, but I can't remember which one).

Just started S2 of Secret City, (Netflix) an Australian drama series that is quite suspenseful and has a lot of good old Aussie pragmatism such as the transgender government security agent who was married (before transition) to a political reporter, who is the central figure, delving into corruption and spies in Canberra. The intrigue takes surprising twists and turns.
    I'll keep watching.
