^ Watched one and never went back to it. It's not based on the film it IS the film. Characters and plot copied to the letter. If you've seen the film I can't think what pleasure you could possibly get from watching it. Perhaps that's just me. Perhaps the plot changed further on. Not for me though.

From Dusk till Dawn: The Series is an American horror television series developed by Robert Rodriguez. It forms part of the franchise of film, direct-to-video, comic and cult following of From Dusk till Dawn, expanding on the chronicles of the Gecko Brothers, Seth and Richie; The Fuller family; and Santanico Pandemonium.[1] The series premiered on March 11, 2014,[2][3] on Rodriguez's newly launched channel El Rey.[4] Outside the United States and Latin America, the series is marketed as a Netflix original.[5]

It is being produced by FactoryMade Ventures in association with Miramax and executive produced by Rodriguez.[6][7]

The series adds to the tone of the film, with new characters and backstories, while expanding the creatures' Mesoamerican mythology.[4]

On March 26, 2014, From Dusk till Dawn: The Series was renewed for a 13-episode second season.[8]

^ Perhaps I didn't give it a fair crack then. Although IMO they did themselves no favours at all when they made episode one a scene by scene carbon copy of the first half hour of the movie.

From Dusk till Dawn is simlar to what they did with the Fargo series.....it just the same story as the movie but they give you a more in-depth insight into the Characters

    I really enjoyed Fargo.

I liked the way they used scene details in new contexts and TV characters partially corresponded with movie characters but with key differences.

The story was actually pretty different too so there was little sense of predictability.

    The drama was sustained well.

The Korean second wife was curiously attractive.

Lorne Malvo was a funnier and more engaging bad guy than the movie mute.

The Leftovers is a great show.

    Another HBO production.

doesn't pander to the usual popcorn format tv.

Doughnut and dildo related posts appear to have been removed.

    Oh well, onwards...

Master chef U.S.A has lost its sheen since Graham Elliot no longer looks like Porky Pig.

    Very fucking disappointing indeed.

^ Don't diss my man Graham.

I only watch the show because I love the way he always looks up to the sky when he tastes the food. Once you notice it, then you can't stop thinking about it (a bit like blinking).

^^ Yeah and Gordon is far too nice this season. He needs to be throwing out a lot more abuse.

The Bridge (US) keeps getting better & better. I'm missing Breaking Bad a little less. The original Swedish Bridge is good & the Tunnel is little better IMO. They're all going with the same outline with local peculiarities.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

I'm not sure why I hadn't bothered watching it before but it certainly didn't disappoint.

    Enjoying both of those.

There have been a couple of really strong episodes of The Leftovers.

The one that focused on The Priest and the on that focused on his sister have been excellent.
