    Jeremy Clarkson

I understand that approx. 120 Brits. have been killed in Iraq, many in the Basra area. Meanwhile at the BBC, the producers of the motoring show 'Top Gear' are in discussion with their hostile environment/ safety advisers to assess the feasibility of a brilliant scheme; racing a gaggle of 4x4's from Kuwait to Basra. The bright spark who apparantly came up with this looney idea was none other Jeremy Clarkson, one of the shows hosts. I wonder what the average Iraqi en-route will make of it all, not to mention the militias that are roaming around killing all and sundry. I'll be watching the show fer sure!

Why don't they call the show "Survivor" ... of course that doesn't guarantee a winner.

^ If they recruit a Muslim cleric to drive one of the 4x4's it just might.

^ I fail to see the humour in attempting to organise & justify a 'Gumball' rally through a warzone, but I guess that's just me. Seems insensitive to put it mildly.

Its entertainment thats all, if people didn't watch it then they wouldn't make it .

A muslim woman called to my door last night I didn't open it, I just talked to her through the letter box to see how she liked it.

Does that make it right though? I wonder.

As I recall the Romans used to entertain the masses by holding days of games in their great arenas. The populus by all accounts loved it, despite the fact that slaughter of animals & people were the main events, no clowns in those days.

Unfortunately, for Jeremy Clarkson the border crossing between Iraq and Kuwait has been effectively closed. Although Fast Track could show pictures of Jeremy arguing with the border guards who definately will not let him pass
