Robbie Williams cancels Bangkok
London
Robbie Williams has cancelled the entire Asian leg of his world tour, including Bangkok, citing health concerns.
The 32-year-old pop star, who is midway through his "Close Encounters" tour, called off shows in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Mumbai and Bangalore, which were set for Nov. 4-26.
The Bangkok show was set for Nov 14 at Aktiv Square, Muang Thong Thani. Tickets have been on sale since June.
A spokesman for Williams told the British Broadcasting Corp that honouring the dates "would be asking too much."
A statement to promoters said it had become clear "that the stress and exhaustion of the Asian tour, coming so shortly after the end of the European and South American dates, would seriously impact his health," according to the Shanghai Daily.
"Throughout the summer Robbie Williams has performed in more than 40 shows around the world to more than 3 million people," the statement said.
Williams was to perform the second of five dates at the Milton Keynes Bowl north of London last night.
His European tour kicked off in Dublin, Ireland, in June, and next month moves to South America, before finishing in Australia in December. (Agencies)
