    MSN problem

I use MSN 3-4 times a week to talk to friends back in the UK. However, I have since been prompted to install the latest version which I rejected, but it won't let you continue with the previous version. I have tried to install it as there seems to be no other choice but the installation has been unsuccessful on three attempts. Anyone familiar with this or is there another service I can use that will allow me to talk to MSN friends?

And while we're at it. Why the hell do I keep getting diverted to MSN India when I have set MSN US as my default homepage. Sorry I hate cricket and Bollywood.
