    Kraut Rock - any fans?

Well, I still enjoy listening to the classic "granddads" - Amon Duul 2, The Can, Kaftwerk and Neu!, which recently gained publicity through Tarantino's "Kill Bill". Jazz/Rock singer Inga Rumpf is a classic.

I never got into Ash Ra Temple, and Tangerine Dream sound dated now, as do many Punk/New wave groups: DAF, Fehlfarben, Einstuerzende Neubauten.
Die Toten Hosen are still rocking, so are Die Krupps and Rammstein.

Yes, Popul Vuh are Kraut Rock, they did they soundtrack for one of Herzog's films.

Scorpions are German, too, but don't have the "Kraut" sound.

    Yeah, Nico was German.

99 red balloons - Nena? Top of the pops stuff.

Still, anyone who hasn't heard of Amon Duul2 or The Can, download it now, classic rock.

Not sure where Falco came from but he's dead now, killed in Cuba in a car crash.

I like Rammstein too. If you're listening to Feuer Frei with a friend you have to bang heads at the lyrics 'bang bang', strangely enough it doesn't hurt, irrespective of how hard you do it. Try it and see.

I know you love that tune, but it's only appreciated by ancient die-hards.

The younger generation who share your views and ideals listen to bands such as "Boese Onkelz", promoting hate against immigrants and other minorities, and advocating violence against Muslims, leftists and so on.

    What happened to Marlene Dietrich?

    Shame Golden Earring were Dutch.

Scorpions 'Wind of Change' is one of The great rock anthems though.

I've got most of Amon Duul 2's albums. I've seen them play live, in England, about four times. Hell, I've got side one of 'Dance of the Lemmings on my mobile. Last saw them on the Nada Moonshine tour, with original members Cris Karrier, Lother Mied and I never could pronounce the Womans name.( I could google, but this is memory!) Tangerine Dream were better in the early days IMHO. When they got to 'rubycon' and started touring Europe, I sort of lost touch. The double album Ziet was a good example of making synthetic music without synthesizers and had some excellent drumming. Can I saw once, first two albums were very good. I had a friend who was into Ash Ra Temple and Popol Vuh and got to listen to his album collection on Sundays. Few years ago now! Thanks for finding this thread again.

Trio "Ich Lieben de Rock n' Roll" (or something)

They also did a ditty that was blatantly copied by MC Hammer's "Can't Tough Thing" forget the name of it...
